[Open] A Very Kratt-y Birthday

What: Celebrating Martin Kratt's birthday!

The night before had been spent getting the decorations up for the party, with Chris and Fluttershy and anyone else who had offered to help while Martin had been sleeping, in order to keep the whole party a surprise for him.

Fluttershy could only hope that all her experiences with Pinkie Pie's parties would help her make sure this one was successful. After all Chris and Martin had done for her recently, helping make Martin's birthday a special one was the least she could do.

[Nala, being a hunter back home, noticed the food being taken from the table and cocked her head at the action. After seeing it happen a few times she collected up a few things on a plate before crouching down and peeking under the table.]

Hello there... would you like more then what you've managed to grab?

[Seeing the small human automatically made the mother lion want to care for him, but she wasn't sure if he would be so accepting of it. Still she held out the plate towards the boy.]

[Duo hadn't realized he had been caught sneaking food until someone, Nala, had ducked down to hand him a plate. His eyes go wide and immediately, he moves the two plate he had used before out of sight. He's ready to bolt if he needs to.

He stares at the plate, though, that Nala holds out to him.]

It's not poisoned, is it?

[...Duo and his big mouth...]

[The question makes the mother pause for a moment, here expression becoming sad as she considers what this boy must have been through, to have to ask such a question. Then she offers him a soft smile.]

No, little one, it isn't poisoned, I would no more poison you than my own daughter.

[Duo watches her a moment, then looks back at the food. Okay, so maybe the food is more than a little enticing. He utters a quiet thanks before taking hold of the plate.]

Adults do dumb things, so you can't be too careful...

[Once he has a hold of the plate she lets it go. Already she can tell that something has made this young one timid or afraid of others, so she wants to show him that he can trust her.

She doesn't move from where she is crouched either though.]

Some times they can do very dumb things, the careful hunter is the hunter that lives on to hunt again.

[Duo stares down at the plate a moment, poking at some of the food on it before lifting a piece of fruit to his mouth.]

It's not always the careful ones, ya know.

... You are right, very wise for one so young.

[Rather than worry about what Duo was eating the once lioness looked at the boy himself very closely.]

You look as if you have seen more than any young ever should at such an age.

[Falling from the sky a ball of light appears.

From the wisdom of both being a mother and her age, Nala's crest appears. The Crest of Light.]

[Nala reaches out and takes the crest, looking a bit confused and befuddled by the sudden presence of the crest.]

Oh... I... I can only guess this is... mine?

[She sounded a bit confused, though it was clear to her that it had shown up in front of her, rather than the child, and it felt right thatit was her's.]

[Duo shrugs and opens his mouth to answer when he notices the ball of light. He blinks, his mouth hanging open for only a moment before he nearly throws the plate to jump up and duck behind Nala.

He's not scared! He's just using her to shield him if the thing explodes. That's all it is!]
