[Open] A Very Kratt-y Birthday

The night before had been spent getting the decorations up for the party, with Chris and Fluttershy and anyone else who had offered to help while Martin had been sleeping, in order to keep the whole party a surprise for him.

Fluttershy could only hope that all her experiences with Pinkie Pie's parties would help her make sure this one was successful. After all Chris and Martin had done for her recently, helping make Martin's birthday a special one was the least she could do.

[Kit could say the same for your name, Donatello, but fortunately she's got better manners than to say so out loud. She nods.]

Yeah, I like 'Donnie' better too, I think. Most everybody just calls me Kit, so you can too, if you want.

[She idly swings her legs a little, as sitting in the chair lifts them a little off the floor.]

Thought you looked like you could use a little cheering up. I mean, it can't be too much fun to be hurt like that and have to sit all by yourself at a party while all your friends are dancing and doing stuff.

How'd you get hurt anyway? Was it in the big fight with Titamon that happened before I got here?

[It seems like a more than plausible idea, given the amount of damage that attack seems to have done to the city.]

No, it happened a few weeks after that. I was doing some construction work on my apartment during the clean up. But when I heard one of my Digimon, Paolo, cry I got distracted. I was on a ladder and I wasn't paying attention, so I fell and... well, broke my leg.

[And he'd forever feel like an idiot because of it.]

Sounds like what happened to me one time. Kat- he's my brother- and I were climbing a tree, and Mamma called us in for dinner. I was in a hurry and stepped wrong on a branch and ended up falling and landing wrong. I sprained my ankle pretty badly, and Papa said I was lucky I didn't break something. We're a lot better at climbing now though.

[She then picks up on another relevant detail.]

Oh, you're one of the ones who's got two digimon? That's cool! What's the other one's name?

Ah, it does sound like you were lucky. My brothers and I sued to have that happen to us all the time when we were kids.

[Heck, it still happened on occasion as teenagers.]

My other Digimon is named Artemistia, or Arte for short. She's back at my apartment. Paolo is a baby Digimon at the moment, so she volunteered to babysit while I came out here.

Aaaww... I've never seen a baby digimon before. I bet he's really cute.

[Emmy's expression took on a look of mock offense.]

Hey, what about me, huh?

[Kit giggles and leans over a little to rub her partner's head.]

Hehe, don't worry; you're cute too. Babies are just extra cute 'cause they're babies.

[Emmy laughs a bit herself.]

Heheh, good thing you're cute enough to make up the difference, then!

Hehe, yup! Nobody's cuter than us together!
