the city (open)
Who: The city!
What: Beemon Invasion
When: 24-26 of April 2013
Where: All over Terminal Tokyo
Just as Ryou predicted it was only several hours later that the first wave of Beemon made their appearance. None of the various types of Beemon seem to even blink if they're attacked. Their first and only objective seems to be to lay ruin to the city and everything in it. At first any attacks will be ignored, but if someone proceeds to continue and attack them the Beemon will attack.
They're difficult to beat, regardless of level. The FanBeemon may need two people working together even at Champion level. Each Digimon are much more difficult to defeat solo than they would be normally. One thing should easily be certain before the first night is out-- if you want the city to survive then you're going to need to work together.]
[[OOC:
So here's how this will work guys-- unless you need a Digimon for various reasons: playing out the first Digivolution, Dark Digivolutions, or a general battle they will be played by you. You may request a modded NPC as per usual, but depending on the number/duties you may be turned down (we'll do our best, though). Keep in mind your character will not have an easy win on their own and that humans will be virtually ineffective. Your character may get a few good whacks in on a rookie level Beemon, but that won't be so effective later.
NPC Chosen will also be out and around the areas to help you as needed, so you can tag them!
There's all sorts of Beemon to fight so pick and choose: FanBeemon, Flybeemon, HoneyBeemon, JewelBeemon, CannonBeemon, and DinoBeemon specifically will be most noticeable.
Remember to mark your subject titles with date, time, and even type of Beemon!]]
Day 1 | Dark Digivolution, otherwise known as Forte Makes Everything Worse.
It wasn't long before Forte encountered the oncoming Digimon, which were already attacking some of the buildings. They didn't look so tough! It'd be like fighting junk sentry bots! He'd been programmed with hand-to-hand combat knowledge; even like this he could take these things! Forte grit his teeth, balled his hands into fists, then with a frustrated yell lunged at a nearby Fanbeemon, landing a punch squarely on its carapace.
His hand stung, and the Digimon didn't so much as flinch. In fact, it completely ignored the attack, continuing to chip at the wall with its claws.
Forte boiled.
"Don't you DARE ignore me, you stupid bug!"
A second punch, and another, and shit it was like trying to punch through steel with only a ham. His hands shook as he pulled back from the last attempt, and forcing his fingers to uncurl hurt more than the blows had.
The Fanbeemon had noticed him now. It stopped what it was doing, turned towards him, and readied its stinger. Before Forte could react, however, something purple and white zoomed past him, slamming into the Fanbeemon and knocking it off balance.
For a split second, he thought it was Gospel. When the blur resolved into Tsukaimon instead - of course, that pathetic excuse for a stand-in...! - something in him just snapped.
"No." He didn't understand anything. Why he was here, why he had to be reduced to this state, why this... THING had to replace Gospel, why his eyes stung now too. Who the hell was he supposed to be without the ability to fight? "NO! Go AWAY! I'm NOT relying on you!!"
"I'm the one who's relying on YOU, ya moron!" Tsukaimon shot back, shoving his face into Forte's. His usual mocking tone had dropped, leaving raw, brutal agitation in its place. "I'm sick an' tired of your stubborn-ass whining, and if you don't get your act together and TRUST me just a little freaking bit-!"
"I said NO!" Forte shoved Tsukaimon hard, causing the Digimon to go tumbling out of the air and skid across the ground. "T-this is all your stupid fault anyway! YOU pulled me here and took Gospel's place! YOU made me like... like this! You and your stupid world!"
He was screaming now, and his vision was blurring, but he didn't even care. Tsukaimon stared up at him, startled, not noticing the Fanbeemon getting back up and rising into the air.
"YOU'RE supposed to be the incarnation of my strength here!? HA! You're useless! You're useless and I'm useless, and I'm supposed to be the strongest there is! That's all I want, so just... stop, stop being useless already!"
Anything Tsukaimon was about to say died in his throat as a strange energy filled the air. Forte's Digivice, shoved deep into his pocket and forgotten, glowed and crackled with an ominous violet. Tsukaimon thought, very clearly, this feels wrong, and then he stopped thinking altogether as the energy enveloped him.
Forte stepped back, rubbing at his cheek with his sleeve and staring blankly as Tsukaimon changed, glowing darkly and shifting into something altogether different. When the light faded, instead there stood a huge dragonlike creature, half beast and half machine, its eyes glowing and unreadable.
DexDorugamon shrieked and turned on the first thing to move in a flash, crushing the Fanbeemon under its claws and holding the struggling Digimon in place as it repeatedly fired cannonballs into it. It didn't stop until its prey had disintegrated into data.
"H-heh..." Was that the fabled digivolution? He was definitely stronger... "I guess that's not ba-" But then DexDorugamon whirled, slamming its tail through the side of a building as it unmistakably aimed for Forte. He ducked instinctively, but couldn't evade the entire attack and was slammed back against the side of the building across the street.
"What the-!? The hell are you attacking ME-" The pain hit, and he coughed wetly, tasting something coppery in his mouth. Forte's eyes widened as he realized... that attack had been with intent to kill. If he hadn't dodged the brunt of it...

The light- visible darkness? Future research material caught her attention as Tsukaimon evolved, though, and when that happened... Danger, what danger, this was interesting. Or it was, until the monster kicked the shit out of what appeared to be its own partner, taking out a wall to do it. This was bad.
With the wall that DexDorugamon tore through gone, Alex was standing in the open, but she tried to back away carefully. Maybe, she hoped, it hadn't noticed her. She could study it from a distance.]

Forte, meanwhile, was ready to take advantage of the Digimon's distraction. He staggered to his feet, gasping as pain shot through his ribcage. Was something broken? How the hell did you even tell with a human body? Grimacing, he fumbled around in his pockets until he found his Digivice, shaking it violently and pushing at its buttons only to get no response.]
C'mon you stupid thing, you're connected to that dumb monster, right? Agh, WORK already!

no subject
Forte threw the device to the ground, watching it bounce harmlessly against the pavement.]
See what I mean?? You can't even get stronger properly!
[He roared it up at DexDorugamon, though his throat felt thick, like something had his voice in a stranglehold.]
If that's how you want to do it, FINE! Wreck this city for all I care!
no subject
On the other hand, it left her defenseless for a second barrage. She grit her teeth and looked around. She had to find some way out.]
no subject
It heard Forte then, turning and locking its eyes on him. Some kind of sensation shot through his system, putting him on edge... what WAS that? He didn't like it. It made him want to run.
...Running might be a pretty good idea, actually, but he wouldn't do it. Forte couldn't bring himself to yell at DexDorugamon again right away though, simply trying not to shake as he stared it down.
Its mouth began to glow again.]

Paralyze Breath!
[And with that, Gazimon ended up leaping from on top of the building, spitting a ball of lightning down at DexDorugamon's snout... right as she fell for it herself, as well. Some plans should be thought through better.]

There is always a way out. If she can't alter her own trajectory... Then change her mass.
With that determination in mind, her Digivice began to shine. Gazimon glowed brightly, and landed in front of Alexandria on new paws.]
I evolved?
Ignore the monster, attack the human's Digivice. Kill its power source!
Right!
[And like that, Tailmon darted around DexDorugamon's legs for where Forte had thrown his Digivice.]

Forte had barely heard Alex's shout, and he stumbled as the cannonball shook the ground, swearing under his breath. The shockwave caused his Digivice to rattle closer to him, bumping into his shoe. He glared at it. None of this was his fault! Everything about this place was stupid, and Tsukaimon was stupid; he hadn't even HELPED, just gone berserk, and everyone else was stupid for buying into the whole thing!
So why did it hurt to look at his Digivice? He pulled his arms tight around his aching chest and sucked in a pained breath.
When Tailmon makes it to the Digivice, she's going to get either a boot to the face or a leg placed firmly in her way, depending on how quick she can react.]
Hey, shove off! Just leave me the hell ALONE!

[They're about to get more company. From one of the edges of the city, Campbell, Neku, and Shepard have been hobbling along, going slow as not to aggravate the latter two's injuries more. It's taken some time, but Strikedramon's proving to be their Digi-Ambulance, with Neku riding on his tail and Shepard being carried in his arms.
Their goal is the shelter, and they've mostly avoided any Digimon in their way, but the sight of DexDorugamon makes Cam stop cold.] What the...
That's...not a Beemon.
[That's not only what catches Cam's eye:] Why are, why are some of us fighting?!
[Tailmon, and Forte.]
no subject
[When her partner stops walking suddenly, though, she pulls herself up a little using his shoulder to get a look.]
The hell?
[Strikedramon goes stiff and growls. Dark digivolution, meet digimon designed to chase down and kill viruses. When he talks, it's in a rough growl.]
Virus.
no subject
First of all, I'm not 'us'. This guy's monster went nuts and it's strong like this. Destroy the Digivice or knock out its human. If humans energize the monsters to make them bigger, cut the power flow and it might revert.
no subject
If your dumb cat attacks me again, I'll knock YOU out!
[It hurts to shout. It hurts to breathe, honestly, but he's hardly letting it stop him. Forte can't keep the pain and upset out of his voice, though - he's a little delirious with rage and confusion himself.
He glances towards the others, not intending to pay them much mind, but his mood darkens even further when he sees Lucemon. Another stupid angel, freaking perfect. Was this place just deliberately mocking him now? He's yelling at them too before he really knows it.]
See what happens!? I'm supposed to partner with THAT thing? This whole place is friggin stu-!
[Think fast, DexDorugamon has noticed new targets. It suddenly charges at Strikedramon's group, swiping at Forte on its way past. He stumbles to the side, barely avoiding the attack, but ends up falling to the pavement anyway, hissing at the persistent pain in his chest. He's definitely got some bruised ribs, at the very least.]
no subject
[At first, Cam starts to approach Alex, as he hadn't seen her before, pinned, but the rampaging DexDorugamon, well. That stops him in his tracks. Immediately, Lucemon braces herself in front of him.]
Grand Cross! [A crucifix behind her of ten balls of light, which charge at DexDorugamon, though at the rookie level, that probably won't do much.
BlackGatomon's become a Terriermon again, and she's too tired to fight. And it appears the partner of the wild Digimon's hurt too.
All of it makes a troubling situation; Cam can feel his hands start to shake, but he tries to will it down. Miss Shepard's hurt, Neku's hurt, these two people are hurt -- he's the only one at full strength, so he has to do something.
So, perhaps reckless or perhaps smart, he braces himself and darts away from them, his skates providing extra speed. Yes, the ground is rough, but he's lived out in a backwater wilderness just about all his life; he's used to that. He waves his arms as Lucemon launches her attack, hoping to distract DexDorugamon.]
Hey! Down here!
no subject
[But he forces himself to stop, remembering the woman in his arms and the boy on his back. Can't. Gotta protect the humans, can't go after the enemy. It almost physically hurts, but he takes a step backwards instead.]
[Shepard, however, is not about to willingly stay put. She pushes hard on Strikedramon's chest, trying to get away. There are people in danger and Cam just threw himself into the middle of it.]
Let me go, Cadet! Now!!
[Strikedramon growls low in his throat and holds his partner tighter.]
No ma'am, Commander! You'll get killed!

[Alexandria, for all her many, many faults, was finding she had a talent for thinking fast in times of crisis. But all her thinking was pointing her at one answer- A small cat, a childish angel, and the only strong-looking monster had its hands full of injured people. There was only one answer she could think of: Treat it like a warlock attacking with a summoned familiar, and...]
Gazimon, you said you're stronger than humans, prove it. Take down that guy no matter what you have to do. Angel-thing, provide cover fire. We have no chance of beating the monster, so take out the source!
[With a hiss, not wanting to follow orders but recognizing the wisdom in them, Tailmon leaps for Forte, claws pointed for fleshy bits.]
no subject
DexDorugamon roars as Lucemon's attack pummels into it - that definitely hurt, but is nowhere near enough to take the larger Digimon down. It begins to charge another cannonball attack when Cam calls out, catching its eye.
All it takes is a tilt of its head to the side to fire that cannonball at Cam instead of Lucemon.]
no subject
[Okay, great! He's got its attention! Well now what. He puts on the speed, swerving to the right to avoid the cannonball. This is such a small space to actually be skating in, and he's never avoided projectiles, but he keeps imagining he's doing runs, and so he turns abruptly after dodging, in a zig-zag to confuse DexDorugamon.]
Campbell! [Lucemon, frankly, is horrified. She's supposed to be protecting him. This is not in the plan.]
Protect that guy! [Cam doesn't quite know who he's talking to, but Tailmon's attack caught his eye. Someone, anyone. They're not supposed to fight each other. He at least knows that.]
no subject
Let me go, you can't make me sit this out, those are kids!!
[Strikedramon growls and winces, then takes a big step back.]
Cam!!
[Strikedramon growls again.]
Hold still!!
no subject
[Tailmon curls its claws to deliver a Cat Punch to Forte's shielding arms.]
no subject
All of you damn monsters can go to hell! Nnngh...
[After that, however, he won't be able to move much, prone on the ground trying to grip the worse of his arms to keep it from bleeding too much.
DexDorugamon, meanwhile, does indeed seem to be having some trouble following Cam's zigzags. It stomps after him, and when it misses with a claw swipe, it lets out a frustrated screech.
Followed by turning and whipping its tail in his general direction, the live wires at its tip crackling with electricity.]
no subject
I don't want to die.]
CAMPBELL!!!
[Lucemon charges towards him, wings moving fast, fast, but not fast enough, not--]
LUCEMON DIGIVOLE TO...SEASARMON!
[Cam's pretty sure he's dead. ...Again. He's pretty sure this is it, until something golden and white leaps over the oncoming tail and snatches him in its mouth, flips him on to its back, and keeps running, all in one fluid motion.
And this can outrun the tail.
On instinct, Cam clings to the creature's-- fur? Around its neck are what appear to be multiple spikes, but they aren't sharp, just firm. He's sure it can feel him tremble. He's very sure. He's also very sure it, like he, felt the electric waves behind them, just as DexDorugamon's tail passes them, just barely a dodge.]
Tiida Ija! [He starts. It's Lucemon's voice coming out of that thing's mouth, slightly lower, but still hers. From around the Digimon, light begins to appear, and Cam ducks lower, but not low enough to miss the sight of it: arrows, arrows of pure light, forming and firing at DexDorugamon...continuously.]

[For a moment, barely a breath, she can smell overheated thermal clips and sweat. Her hearing fades out and she recalls the moment with perfect clarity. Phantom pain shoots up her leg and she's watching the thresher maw rise up from the sand, she can hear the screaming and the crunch of lives ending and she can do nothing on a broken leg, she's trapped and she'll be next and her friends are dying right in front of her--]
[Seasarmon pulls Cam out of the way of harm's way and Shepard's vision focuses again.]
Take it down, Seasarmon!!!
[Shepard takes in a shaky breath, and steadies herself.]
Give 'em hell!!
