New Arrivals: Let's Have Some Fun

Characters: Everyone! (Only new arrivals are allowed in the Terminal Room)
When: 4 MAY 2013
Where: Terminal Room or all over town!
What: An open mingle log for everyone to play in!

A calm had swept over Terminal Tokyo, as the Chosen Children had successfully repel the Beemon attack and began to clean up their city. All was well and life would go on, though some scars would take a while to heal. But as the saying goes, there is no rest for the weary.

Another earthquake tore through the Digital World. One on the scale of the one that had brought so many of the current Chosen to the Digtal World. Once again, dozens of Chosen were making their way to the Digital World. Destiny was calling once more and so were their partners...

Every chute in the Terminal Room activated while the small Digimon known as Culumon trembled with excitement. There were so many lonely Digimon that had appeared recently and--finally-- their partners had arrived!

OOC: Feel free to mark your characters in different locations! They can be just arriving in the Terminal Room you read about in the arrival post or anywhere on the map! Also feel free to mark the day for each thread. You can also request to play with Culumon, too! Have fun, guys!

[Connor's busy prodding the buttons on the machine and squinting at the message that pops up in Japanese when he hears the two voices. He looks around, surprised.]

Um... Do you know how to work this?

[Thane nods and strides over.]

Once you've chosen an item in the case to purchase, you must indicate it here, according to the code beneath it. Then you insert credits into the slot, here, to pay its labeled price.

I ask because it appears that this world is especially strange to you. Will you manage?
rotiskenhrakete: (might be pouting idk)

[personal profile] rotiskenhrakete 2013-05-04 11:32 pm (UTC)(link)
And then what happens? The item is delivered to you? There is no one here to give it. [The boy frowns at the machine, still looking puzzled. In this case, the items sold are canned soft drinks, but he's mystified by what they could be.]

It is just... There is a lot to learn. Is this place not strange for you, as well? [He glances to Gazimon. Since this stranger has a partner too, he can't be from this place, either.]
tributetothesea: (Well I never said that)

Yes.

Does he look like he's from the Digital World?

It's true I'm not from here. But in the technology and the architecture, this city is not so unlike many others I've been to.

Once that's done, the machine drops the item. You retrieve it through that door below the case.

Hmm. [He nudges the little door of the machine with his foot, and sure enough, it opens.] But why would anyone build such an elaborate machine? Is it not more simple to buy things from a shop?

[He shrugs, turning away from it. Maybe he'll give the machine a try later, but for now, he wants to save what money he has.]

So where are you from?
tributetothesea: (Just something to consider)

[personal profile] tributetothesea 2013-05-05 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Simple, yes. But occasionally, on the street, one may wish to quickly pick up a single item and keep moving. It's a disputable convenience.

[There are probably a number of ways to answer that question, but he'll keep to the most immediate for now.] I live - or, now, lived on the Citadel, with my son. A space station.

Does space travel occur where you are from?

[He expects the answer to be no - but considers this a way to reciprocate the question without overtly pressing.]

[Connor frowns, still not seeing the point. It doesn't seem so convenient given all the effort it must have taken to invent, design, assemble, and transport the whole thing... At least, not from the point of view of someone with no concept of factories or mass production.]

Is your son here, or were you separated? [That would be sad, if he got dragged off to some other world without him...]

"Space travel"?

[In other words, no.]
tributetothesea: (And for now all is peaceful)

[personal profile] tributetothesea 2013-05-06 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
He isn't here. [Single shake of the head - he'll dwell on this more in private, probably.] Not as far as I'm aware. I trust him to be well. What concerns me is how he might respond to my disappearance.

[His tone had gotten a bit low and edged there, but eases up again for the explanation.]

Travel between interstellar destinations - "across the stars", between planets and solar systems - is a way of life where I'm from. Many species are prevalent throughout what of space is presided over by the Citadel's council. Aspects of their culture with them. With the degree of technological advancement cities of this size, if not personality, aren't rare.

...I hope you are able to see him again soon.

[Chosen or not, it was no kindness to separate a parent from their child. At the explanation of space travel, though, Connor perks up a little, fascinated by the idea.]

How is that made possible?
