New Arrivals: Let's Have Some Fun
Characters: Everyone! (Only new arrivals are allowed in the Terminal Room)
When: 4 MAY 2013
Where: Terminal Room or all over town!
What: An open mingle log for everyone to play in!
A calm had swept over Terminal Tokyo, as the Chosen Children had successfully repel the Beemon attack and began to clean up their city. All was well and life would go on, though some scars would take a while to heal. But as the saying goes, there is no rest for the weary.
Another earthquake tore through the Digital World. One on the scale of the one that had brought so many of the current Chosen to the Digtal World. Once again, dozens of Chosen were making their way to the Digital World. Destiny was calling once more and so were their partners...
Every chute in the Terminal Room activated while the small Digimon known as Culumon trembled with excitement. There were so many lonely Digimon that had appeared recently and--finally-- their partners had arrived!
OOC: Feel free to mark your characters in different locations! They can be just arriving in the Terminal Room you read about in the arrival post or anywhere on the map! Also feel free to mark the day for each thread. You can also request to play with Culumon, too! Have fun, guys!

Squall I'm glad you're finally going outside.
It's not a big deal.
Now if only you would make some friends.

Before long he had a crate set up, standing on it with a megaphone and Terriermon draped over his shoulders. The brace on his knee was still clear to see, but he felt good enough to stand on it without much issue]
ATTENTION! Before anyone starts threatening anyone else, running out of the city, or tries to eat their Digimon!
-You are not dead! If you were dead this is not the afterlife. Stop asking
-If you were dead and/or seriously hurt that static is temporary. Sit down and stop screaming we have all heard you by now!
-You have NOT been kidnapped!
-No seriously, no one brought you here on purpose stop bitching.
-No, screaming at Culumon will not make him take you back. There is no going back. Shut up.
-The little creature declaring it’s love for you is not a monster, demon, wild animal or hallucination. It will not eat you. If you hit it, it probably will hurt you more then it.
-Yes, your powers are gone.
-Yes that includes your fancy RPG sword.
-Please don’t shoot/shank/strangle anyone. There are people here better then you with a gun/sword/ninja skills and they will kill you if you are mean to any of the small creatures or children running around here just because you can’t accept you’ve changed genres.
-No you can not beat a digimon in a fight. I don’t care how godly strong you were before, it won’t work.
-If you can’t read or are from a less technological world: the gray device given to you allows you to communicate with others who have it. The button on the corner is video. You can ask for your friends/lover/dog there. I doubt they will answer you though.
If you have any further questions read the letter on your D-Terminal. If you still have questions I might be able to help. If you ask something the letter already answers I have authorized Terriermon to hit you repeatedly in the face with her ears. They are not as soft as they look. [Terriermon waves with one of said oversized ears]
Thank you!

He glanced down to Armadillomon.] Who is he?
I dunno, Connor, but you shouldn't stare so much.
Do you really think that rabbit is going to hit people?
[Yes, Connor's just going to keep staring and asking questions like Neku isn't just a few feet away. Subtlety, he's a master of it.]

And if powers are gone, does that mean Guilmon can't fight now?

[Okay, so this whole situation is kinda confusing. More like really, really confusing. But confusing or not, Guilmon doesn't mind. Culumon is there! And after all the fun he's had with Culumon before, Guilmon would have to be silly to pass up a chance to play.
So after climbing back up to his feet, he'll face the little creampuff with an enormous grin.]
Guilmon will always play with Culumon! We haven't had fun together in a really long time.
[The whole D-Reaper thing put a stopper in their merriment, after all.
But aside from Culumon, other newbies popping up in the Terminal Room may find Guilmon wandering up to them curiously. Are these all new Tamers? And so many at once!]
Around Town;
[Once he's gotten out and about, Guilmon begins his trek throughout the town. It's strange to see a place so full of other Digimon. So lively! After what happened with the D-Reaper, it's definitely a breath of fresh air. Of course, Guilmon's got a super important mission: finding bread.
So he can be found sniffing about and glancing every which way. The city's huge, and he's got no idea where to turn... Which will probably lead to him wandering in circles quite a bit.
Along the way, he may stop to greet others-- especially the Chosen and their partners. And when he does...]
Hey, do you know where the bread is? Guilmon is lost...
Around Town - I think I was contractually obligated to,
Bread? Why would you just eat bread? Burgers taste way better. Oh! And they have ice cream, too. Ice cream is really good!
This is kind of perfect. Just pardon his broken brain for a sec. B]

What I don't get is how you got smaller, Connor, and you don't remember anything. Did you hit your head and de-Digivolve?
De-what?
You did read the guide, didn't you? It explained that.
Yes. Well, most of it. [Meaning he got bored and is more interested in exploring.] What's this over here?
[He goes on ahead to look at a vending machine on the street, not really listening to Armadillomon, who scurries to catch up with him. The poor Digimon has his work cut out for him today...]

He slows to a pause along the street as the boy scurries over to the vending machine behind him - Gazimon sniffs and starts tapping her claws on the ground.]

[Mostly, he was upset that his magic was gone. No matter how little he'd ever had, it had been of vital importance to him.]
[Honestly? He could almost accept being taken to another world. The concept of Second Magic revolved around such a possibility, after all. What he was having trouble with was the aforementioned loss of ability...as well as the aggravating plant attached to him.]
Waver.
Not now.

Don't bother me, I'm thinking.
But--
Get off of me already!

[ Rin's by herself surprisingly which was rare enough. Almost every other child in this place seems to walk with their Digimon, so to not have one was a vulnerability on it's own.
At least it might have been if it wasn't for the giant rifle strapped across her back. ]

[ There is a young woman huddled up on the floor, face in her hands to stop the sobbing. Whatever happened in her transition to the digital-ish city has left her rather completely shaken. If anyone gets close enough, they'll hear her muttering to herself. ]
Fuck. Fuck. Not again. Again? Shit. [ Shuddering breath. ] Why?!
around town
[ Sometime later... very later... The same woman is wandering the streets. She has a hand on the head of her Bearmon partner as if for support. Bearmon, for her part, seems totally okay with this and keeps up her stream of chatter to keep Misha distracted. ]
We'll get to the apartment and it's awesome! I even know where the building is. Really high up, awesome view. It'll probably be crowded, but...
... I can deal with crowded.
Yeah? That's my partner. We're already doing great!
Your definition of "great" sucks, kiddo.

He still is, but at least now he can keep it from showing.
Well, Biyomon at least doesn't seem to have noticed a thing wrong with him, busy as he is with playing with the frog toy Kamui had on him.]

It's just the confusion. The information overload. Being warped from a digital arena to a half-digital world was pretty taxing, and she was just trying to deal with it. The sparks of static crossing her body occasionally wasn't helping either. It was... unsettlingly familiar.]
It's a lot to take in, I understand. [The voice comes from the Lucemon walking next to her. There was a look of concern on the childlike digimon's face as she reaches up to place a hand on her partner's back.] But I'm here for you, now. And I'm sure there are plenty of other Chosen willing to help you out as well.
[Hakuno smiles wearily, patting Lucemon on the head. The child smiles.] Thanks, Lucemon. But I think I'll be okay... I've adapted to suddenly waking up in strange places before.
[There's a pause as she looks around to take in her new surroundings.] This is just... a bit bigger than the last digital world I woke up in...
no subject
What?
[ Lunamon, who is usually quiet and rarely speaks up when her chosen is nearby finds her courage to ask: ]
Tousaka, is something wrong? [ Yes, Rin has her Digimon partner trained to call her by her last name too.
And no, she doesn't respond. Instead, she's trying to find the source of that voice. In an area this large and full of busy activity though, even Rin has some trouble doing that. So if Hakuno happens to look up anytime soon, she might see Rin scaling a pole in order to get a better look at the area around her.

around town, eventually winding up at the river
So feel free to run into a teenaged boy and a Crabmon wandering through the city. He's inspecting statues, startling and ducking behind buildings whenever a monster goes by, and even throwing gold coins into the mist of a water fountain they came across. Crabmon seems confused and slightly concerned for his partner's sanity, but for the most part, doesn't say much in protest.
Eventually, Percy convinces his partner to take him to the river, and while the Digimon seems a little confused about what that's supposed to accomplish exactly, he does. Percy finally explains himself when they're standing right above the water, and Crabmon looks about as puzzled as a crustacean can be.]
I need to tell my dad where I am. If I can get in touch with anyone back home, it's going to be him.
And jumping in the river's going to help?
[Percy heaves what's probably the world's biggest sigh in response.] Just stay there, okay? I'll be right back.
[And without further explanation, he jumps into the water. So far, so good.
Except he was all wet. And he couldn't breathe.
Fortunately, Crabmon seemed to realize something was going on and jumped in after him, so a few seconds later, they both submerge again, with Percy holding on to Crabmon like a floatation device and coughing up river water which, for the curious, tastes pretty nasty.]
You okay, Percy?
[Percy gives him a withering look. Or, you know, as best he can when he's sort of lying on top of him and dripping wet.] Do I look like I'm doing okay, big guy?
no subject
He was crossing the bridge when he noticed someone was sputtering in the water. Kaldur started to move to jump in but Gizamon stopped him]
Wait. That Crabmon's got it.
[Sure enough there was a crab floating with the unknown teen. Kaldur took the path down to the river's edge.]

And the arriving infodump that awaited him did not help in the slightest. Digidestined? Digimon?! Is that what these creatures were?
They just reminded him of kraang, and the horrible creatures living in their dimension. But the greatest mental injury was this...thing they made him...it was like he was...human.
That was the final straw. He could only handle so much before flying into his rage. They wouldn't trap him again, they wouldn't! He'd DIE before that happened again!
So through the town there comes a charging human, looking desperately for a way out. They wouldn't make him a prisoner, they wouldn't. Unfortunately, one Impmon just had to be along for the ride--that is, running from the furious mess that was Leatherhead.]
GAH! Screw on the loose! Screw on the loose!
Someone get a straitjacket! Something!
no subject
Ugh... Did you hear that? Or was it just me?
All I heard was someone yelling 'screw on the loose'. Sounds like someone lost they're minds, not that tit surprises me since Humans make no sense.
[Rolls eyes] Lets just go see what's going on.

[ who cares about listening to inane speeches or talking to people confusedly? Not Miki, at least. She's very.. determined that way. After her short lecture, Miki turns on her heels and begins to walk the other way, nose in the air. ] Weed..? W—What kind of master have I been given..

E- Excuse me!
[ She called in hopes of getting her attention. Which is when she realizes that it's rude of her to suddenly start talking to someone about something she had overheard... ]
Oh... I'm sorry, I didn't mean to overhear, but... It's not good to call your Digimon partner names like that. They're the very first friend you make here.

[A Tapirmon flits through the crowd chasing after what appears to be a short, stout man with teal hair and a sweater of the same color. The Tapirmon, having no legs, is having a bit of trouble keeping up and the man seems to either be ignoring him or focused on another matter.
Suddenly, the man comes to a halt and stops at a stall in the Market Place. The stall is run by a pair of Gabumon and it seems to run along the theme of shiny objects. The green-haired man is staring at one of the mirrors with wide eyes. He glances at the pair of Gabumon (currently making a deal with a rather aggressive Betamon) and snatches up the mirror to examine his face.
What in the name of the tri-state area happened to him? After about a minute of making sure he's not hallucinating this he sets the mirror down and sighs. Yep, he was human and it wasn't even like the last time. Based on the appearance such as the hair, eyes, and clothing color scheme he could only conclude that this was someone's idea of what he would look like as a human.
This cannot be happening, was his only thought, and if it was happening, Perry needed to figure out what the heck it meant and fast.
Okay, first he needs to back track. He looked down at the ground, feeling strange because of the new height (even if he was short by most people's standards). He'd been so distracted by what was happening he had barely listened to that message or that strange creature. Aliens? It wouldn't be the first time. They'd used the word "Digimon" hadn't they? Could they have done this to him? But why.]
Excuse me, mister. You didn't even provide me an opportunity to introduce myself.
[Perry blinks and looks down. Right. The alien--er---digimon. It was following him. It also appears to be carrying something and it holds it out to Perry.]
You forgot your digivice and D-Terminal. You really should have listened to the introductory material, it would have explained a lot you know. I am not certain that my own introduction will be as satisfactory.
[Perry nods absentmindedly and accepts the devices. He studies them with the eye of an expert, but still did not seem to understand what they were for. One looks a little like a computer but the other? Yeah, he was drawing a blank there. He settles down with his back to the stall and begins to give the device a more through examination, which is about the time he flips it open and sees the message from Koushirou. Tapirmon waits patiently for him to finish reading the message.]

And what made it worse? The Digimon that had become his partner wouldn't leave him alone. Imagine that. So if you're around town, you may see a man firmly strutting along the roads, trying any possible attempt to avoid the Gazimon following him.]
Hey! Are you even listening to me?! Get back here!
[Thankfully, this one was determined, and didn't let Wheeljack win so easily. She pranced forward on all fours, keeping pace with him and attempting to get his attention.]
Wheeljack!
Sorry...you. I'm busy.
Don't even start! You can't be busy when you just got here! That's the worst excuse in the book!
[Wheeljack stopped. This conversation had been going on for some time, it seems, probably from the Terminal, and it wasn't all too hard to really try on that temper.]
Look. I don't have time for--
Here. You dropped this.
[Gazimon took the moment of still standing to climb up his shoulder, plopping his digivice into his hands. Wheeljack wouldn't say he 'forgot' it. More like conveniently left it there. For good. So when he sees it, there's an internal groan. Maybe external too.]
I didn't LEAVE IT-
[He immediately shakes his arms, irritatingly. Although it didn't seem to be Gazimon for the moment.]
This armor is scrap. I'm taking it off.
[And thus, everyone got to see Wheeljack attempting to remove his jacket and white t-shirt. With Gazimon attempting to control the situation.]
Uh, no! You can't do that here!! Stop that!
[This was going to be a beautiful friendship.]
no subject
It's not like he planned it, he just happened to be turning the corner after wandering off. Arcee was doing...emotional things thanks to earlier events. Who knows. All he knows was that whatever she was doing, it didn't keep his attention very long.]

Terminal Room
[Falling.
Falling, and darkness.
Sleep. Sleep and darkness. Complete, total darkness. He heard something, somewhere. There was no use in answering. The voice was fading, and it wasn't sound. It was thought. It was his name, and the one which had thought it was far away. Very far away. The three syllables were stretched out, as what remained of his rapidly dwindling power tried to get a fix on it. But he couldn't. He was losing power at an alarming rate with no sign of it slowing. And he lost it. The voice was gone. Completely gone. It was if he'd been deafened, blinded and silenced all at once. His ESP had faded entirely, his current wavelength unknown even to him. And he was falling from Shibuya, the Underground and the Realground and all associated parallels as nothing in his descent - like so many superficial barriers of planes and realities torn through by his rapidly materializing form.
What was this? Was it the Higher Plane? Was it some sort of vengeance for the Game? The briefest of panics at this being some kind of punishment from those above faded. It couldn't have been. He'd done nothing wrong. the final Game had been sanctioned, and enough of the Higher Plane spectated from start to finish. If anything had been done wrong, this would have happened way before now. And if anything, he was going across. Not down. Not up. What remained of his power could feel it, before it flickered out entirely - his conciousness with it.
Finally, he came to a stop. He materialized within the Terminal Room. remaining as still as the greatest and oldest of all trees as a small creature excitedly made it's way to him, chatting quite happily. He couldn't say he shared it's happiness, despite the small smile dancing upon his lips. Reflexive instinct. Adapt. Learn. Smile.
As it rambled on and on, He checked his pockets. Of course he checked his pockets. His feather was gone. suppressing the smallest growl, his hand closed upon his phone and he brought it up, flicking it open wordlessly, dexterous fingers immediately hammering out a mail to the only number stored in the small device - a mail which insisted upon him being picked up. Immediately. ]
....Hm.
[His hand paused. No signal. No interface. It was there originally, but then it froze- his autotype locked upon multiple kanji options for "stranded" and showing absolutely no sign of recovery. He snapped shut the clamshell and turned his gaze upon the Digimon speaking to him still. His eyes showed no fear. Of course not - despite the blinking surroundings, This was new. Very new. His eyes became sharper and sharper, but his face remained quite blank. Receptive. He had to be receptive. It wasn't as if he could do anything. At the mention of a partner, his eyes turned curious. ]
... Interesting. Well, thanks for all the info. One thing, though. The next time some kind of equivalent of Timmy falling down a well happens with your world, I'd really recommend finding a Lassie without anything to do to come running.
[ And he walked, accepting the offered goodies from the table, before brushing aside his some tresses of half-curled ash hair irritatedly. He paid the others no mind. He'd go along with this. It wasn't as if he had much of a choice.]

[And it wasn't just the Worlds in the Realm of Light. Somehow Aqua herself was brought here, and in the process lost access to both the Keyblade and her magic. Or, maybe they were being sealed away somehow. The Digimon seemed to be able to use their own fantastical powers.]
[ The light is so bright here. Is this world truly in danger? ]
[The Darkness had a way of hiding itself, and without the Keyblade, there was no way for Aqua to fight it. So it begged to question: what was she meant to do here?]
Aqua! [Aqua gasped a little as she looked up (well down) to see Otamamon running back towards her. Again Aqua had to be snapped out of her own thoughts to realize she kept on losing her leader.] You keep falling behind. I'm sorry, I'm not a very good leader.
[Otamamon's expression dropped, she was a little too hard on herself. Putting on a comforting smile, Aqua knelt down closer to her partner.]
I must be mistaken then. Because the Digimon I've been following has been a wonderful leader so far.
[The Digimon's eyes widened a little, her cheeks redened a little, and her head perked up to meet Aqua's face.] O-oh!
[Otamamon was such a sweetheart, Aqua couldn't help but feel guilty for making her doubt herself. After all, Otamamon has been waiting a long tome for Aqua.] I'm the one who hasn't been a very good follower, have I? I'm sorry Otamamon, it's been a very long time since someone else got to be the leader. I guess I still get a little lost in my thoughts sometimes.
No, it's fine. Do you want to take a break? We can go to the apartment and rest for a little bit. You look a little worn out. [A different time, Aqua would have been saying the same thing to Terra or Ven after staying up so late training. And now, Aqua was the one who hasn't rested in quite some time. It was a little strange hearing the same concern from someone so small.]
[But, she couldn't stop now.] That's alright. There's still some things that you want to show me, isn't there?
[Otamamon still looked a little worried, but eventually she let up. Maybe they should go somewhere peaceful for now.] Uh-huh. We can go see the Reverse River next. It looks really pretty this time of day.
To the Reverse River then.
[Otamamon took the lead again, and this time Aqua made sure to keep in line. She didn't want to worry her more than she already had.]
[ She's trying so hard. I wonder if all partners are like this. Terra...Ven...I wish you both could see this place. ]
[ Don't worry Otamamon, I'll keep you and everyone else safe. ]

And how does he plan to do that you ask?]
Are you certain about this? You don't have that many bits to begin with, sir.
[Perry holds the fedora out to Tapirmon, pressing it towards him. If he's going to have a partner then he's going to make sure he's dressed for the job. Not to mention the digimon are more or less animals too. Perry feels it only right that he pick the first OWCA agent of the Digital World. Tapirmon stares at the hat for a moment before finally taking it and putting it on. Perry grins and nods. Yes, that's perfect.
Tapirmon examines himself in a nearby mirror.]
My, I do look quite dashing don't I? And now everyone will know we are partners simply by looking at us.
[Perry nods and goes to pay the bits for the hat. Completely worth it in his opinion. Suddenly, a breeze picks up and Tapirmon cries out.]
My hat! Quick sir, we must catch it!
[Perry spins around and goes to chase after it, Tapirmon right behind him. He's keeping his eyes on the hat and almost misses the pair of a young woman and a small frog-like creature coming in their direction. At the last second Perry notices the obstacle, dodges to the left out of reflex. He jumps up onto a stall, climbs up a wall with his momentum, and then launches off to catch the hat in midair. It's all very acrobatic and rather impressive for a man of his stature.
Perry lands in a crouch and straightens up, brushing off the hat and turning back around to find Tapirmon gaping at him in clear surprise at his dexterity. He looks from the digimon to the pair he had dodged. He looks a little sheepish and tips his own hat in greeting and as a means of apologizing.]

Outside of the Terminal Room
[He doesn't have his d-terminal, and he doesn't seem at all interested in listening to his partner, either.]
Come back!! I'm not here to hurt you!!
[Forgive him if he doesn't believe you, Floramon. He spent all of the past 24 hours trying not to be horribly murdered by a whole variety of creatures that you seem to resemble.]
no subject
Hey! What's he running away for? Are you and your partner racing? I'm beating mine!
[ It's true, Wally's running a bit behind them both, slightly out of breath but still pushing on. He's a little out of shape these days without his powers. ]

-And that's the city! Any questions, Ta- I mean, Celes?
...Some food and rest would be nice.
Kehehe! Dracmon knows where to get some food! Onwards! [In which the vampire digimon points off to a direction. Celes just smirks a little as she continues.]
Speaking in 3rd person is so annoying, but since you've been helpful, I will let it slide.
Better deal with it, missy. That's just how Dracmon talks!

Without hesitating, he runs up to her, Coronamon calling after his master and frantically running to catch up to him, confused. ]
C—eles-san! Is that you, Celes-san? [ Chihiro shouts, rather uncharacteristically. When Coronamon catches up, he pants a bit, then looks up and makes a clicking noise similar to a cat's hiss at Dracmon. ] Master, that's a Dracmon! They're Dark Area, which are bad news! Do you know this girl?

Terminal Room, various places around town
[This might not be the weirdest way Ed has ever woken up, but if it isn't, it comes close. "Chosen" this, "human sacrifice" that - geez, what next?
All the same, what he needs when thrown into any strange situation is information, and it doesn't look like he can scrape any more out of this place. That settles it, then. Ed bats the annoying white rabbit creature aside as he heads for the exit, more interested in the freaky-looking devices he just picked up than in where he's going or where any of his fellow new arrivals happen to be walking.
Halfway to the door, though, he's momentarily distracted by something else.]
Huh?
[He looks down at his coat. What the - is he flickering?]
[park]
[A little later on, if you're strolling through one of the more secluded corners of the park, you might notice the same blond kid kneeling down by an unremarkable patch of gravel.]
Not that I'm trying to make a point of it or anything, but this wouldn't be most people's idea of sightseeing.
[Ed pushes BlackAgumon's overly large snout away. Despite the relative quiet of their surroundings, he seems considerably more uneasy than he did just after his arrival.] One more try, okay?
[He claps his gloved hands together and presses them to the ground in front of him. Nothing happens. If anything, the gravel seems a little less impressed than before.]
Okay. Alchemy's off. But if that's the case, what could...? [And then, suddenly, his breath catches in his throat.] Unless...
Unless what? [She spreads a claw.] Look, if you really don't want me to show you around, I don't mind. Honestly. You don't have to be cryptic about it.
[Ed doesn't answer her right away. There's a distinct frown beginning to tug at the corner of his mouth.]
[around town]
[And some time after that, if you're out and about, mind your sleeves, jackets or other items of clothing that could conveniently be grabbed by a short teenager, because if he sees them he's going for them. He looks unmistakably harried by this point, not to mention in a rush; his partner, trailing a little ways behind him under the weight of a thick red winter coat, is struggling to catch up.
If he saw you in the Terminal Room earlier, he'll hesitate for a second before plunging on. But hell, it can't hurt to ask.]
Hey! Sorry. We're looking for a library. You couldn't point us in the right direction, could you?
Around town
[And to check up on any new arrivals, so, convenience!]
Yeah, I can show you. But I gotta warn you, everything's in Japanese.

...Unfortunately, that moment didn't last long, which meant that today, you could probably spot one blue-haired girl screaming and freaking out in the middle of the street over the smallest things and a Bokomon trailing after her, trying to calm her down again. ]
...I-Is that a dinosaur?!? He's not going to eat me, is he? Ah, I knew it! I knew I was destined to die before I could ever return back home! I'm so sorry, everyone, but it looks like I'm graduating and heading straight into the next world before all of you!
You worry too much, Makoto. Really, you probably won't die even if you were eaten... I think.

And, here's your housing. You want to stop here?
Not now. You have yet to lead me to the bookstore!
Ah, yes.
[Ryudamon nods and sets off immediately, leaving Ishimaru to catch up- which he does, naturally. It makes sense to defer to his partner's better understanding of this world, and he seems like a respectable creature. Ishimaru still has a lot to process, and the two haven't gotten to know each other yet, but those things can be handled over a discussion of the tour!]

When he saw that unmistakable white uniform he almost thought he was hallucinating. He had been working out in the sun a lot lately, and didn't take as many breaks as he should because he wanted to prove he was tougher than everyone else. It might be the exhaustion finally kicking in, but he couldn't just ignore what he saw.]
