New Arrivals: Let's Have Some Fun

A calm had swept over Terminal Tokyo, as the Chosen Children had successfully repel the Beemon attack and began to clean up their city. All was well and life would go on, though some scars would take a while to heal. But as the saying goes, there is no rest for the weary.

Another earthquake tore through the Digital World. One on the scale of the one that had brought so many of the current Chosen to the Digtal World. Once again, dozens of Chosen were making their way to the Digital World. Destiny was calling once more and so were their partners...

Every chute in the Terminal Room activated while the small Digimon known as Culumon trembled with excitement. There were so many lonely Digimon that had appeared recently and--finally-- their partners had arrived!

Something else... [Another sentient digital entity that wasn't the Moon Cell? That's... an unsettling thought.] Is that even possible, though? For 'something else' to be able to drag unwilling people from the real world into a digital one?

[...] Er, are the bodies of you and the others really your true bodies? Your hair is... different...

[ Taking the comment about her hair as an offense (naturally), she flips it over her shoulder. ]

Maybe I dyed it. Did you ever think about that? No matter, that's not important here. Didn't you read the stupid letter they gave us an excuse?

[She says this partly to calm Rin down, but also because she means it. It's different but not bad different!]

... And no, I didn't. [She looks a bit ashamed of herself.] Everything happened so fast, and I didn't really stop to think that I should check it.

I didn't think I'd have the opportunity to explain things in this world, but here I am again.

[ Rin and her tutorial role. If there's anything she can rely on, it's being forced to explain the situation. ]

In short, another world has called us here to assist even though it really isn't any of our business. It'll be a pain, but you understand our purpose here now, don't you?

So... we're all supposed to work together to help out this world? We don't have to fight each other?

[It may seem childish, maybe even somewhat annoyingly optimistic to ask such a question, but after everything Hakuno's been through... not having to fight people she's come to like is practically a blessing.]

So far that doesn't seem to be the case. Those little things following us around are the ones who do the fighting.

[ Lazily looking up towards the sky. ] People can't die here either, I'm willing to guess. I saw someone who's chest was glitching as though packets of data were being reconstructed to create him. He was killed before he showed up though and seemed to think everyone else should have been dead as well.

Geez, if this is the afterlife, it's a pretty cruddy one...

... Well, I'm glad that answers one question. [As if on cue, the glitch-like static flashes across Hakuno's chest. It was strange, but it didn't hurt, so Hakuno didn't really question it much... she just sort of assumed this happened to most people that showed up here.]

I really don't think this is some sort of afterlife. You're supposed to be able to relax once you cross over after you die, right? Being forced to fight, no matter the cause, is sort of the opposite of that.

Well, just because that's how you've heard the afterlife is supposed to be doesn't make it true. [ Hmph. ]

Either way, I don't think it is. I didn't go and get myself killed after making it out of there, so to tell me that this is an afterlife seriously pisses me off.

... That's good to hear. [Even with Rin's harsh language, Hakuno can't help but smile. Just... knowing that Rin had been okay before being dragged here is really, really good to hear.]

So... how much do you know about this place? Something tells me you've been here longer than I have.

[ Pulling out her D-Terminal with frustration, she waves it as she speaks.

... Yes, she pulled it out from underneath her skirt. ]

These things restrict access. I'm hoping to find some kind of terminal that I can use to hack into this world and discover what we need to know.

[ Only to Hakuno can she admit that she doesn't know much about it. ]

Have you tried searching that area people are waking up in? It seems to be a hub of some kind, so I wouldn't be surprised of there was something there.

That annoying Culumon made it difficult to concentrate. I might head back there provided I can get someone to distract them.

[ Suddenly eying Hakuno as though she's a prime slab of meat. ]

Come on, that one is cute and kind of tiny. If you could put up with that idiot during the war, an overly active creature can't be that much of a mental stretch.
