New Arrivals: Let's Have Some Fun
Characters: Everyone! (Only new arrivals are allowed in the Terminal Room)
When: 4 MAY 2013
Where: Terminal Room or all over town!
What: An open mingle log for everyone to play in!
A calm had swept over Terminal Tokyo, as the Chosen Children had successfully repel the Beemon attack and began to clean up their city. All was well and life would go on, though some scars would take a while to heal. But as the saying goes, there is no rest for the weary.
Another earthquake tore through the Digital World. One on the scale of the one that had brought so many of the current Chosen to the Digtal World. Once again, dozens of Chosen were making their way to the Digital World. Destiny was calling once more and so were their partners...
Every chute in the Terminal Room activated while the small Digimon known as Culumon trembled with excitement. There were so many lonely Digimon that had appeared recently and--finally-- their partners had arrived!
OOC: Feel free to mark your characters in different locations! They can be just arriving in the Terminal Room you read about in the arrival post or anywhere on the map! Also feel free to mark the day for each thread. You can also request to play with Culumon, too! Have fun, guys!

around town, eventually winding up at the river
So feel free to run into a teenaged boy and a Crabmon wandering through the city. He's inspecting statues, startling and ducking behind buildings whenever a monster goes by, and even throwing gold coins into the mist of a water fountain they came across. Crabmon seems confused and slightly concerned for his partner's sanity, but for the most part, doesn't say much in protest.
Eventually, Percy convinces his partner to take him to the river, and while the Digimon seems a little confused about what that's supposed to accomplish exactly, he does. Percy finally explains himself when they're standing right above the water, and Crabmon looks about as puzzled as a crustacean can be.]
I need to tell my dad where I am. If I can get in touch with anyone back home, it's going to be him.
And jumping in the river's going to help?
[Percy heaves what's probably the world's biggest sigh in response.] Just stay there, okay? I'll be right back.
[And without further explanation, he jumps into the water. So far, so good.
Except he was all wet. And he couldn't breathe.
Fortunately, Crabmon seemed to realize something was going on and jumped in after him, so a few seconds later, they both submerge again, with Percy holding on to Crabmon like a floatation device and coughing up river water which, for the curious, tastes pretty nasty.]
You okay, Percy?
[Percy gives him a withering look. Or, you know, as best he can when he's sort of lying on top of him and dripping wet.] Do I look like I'm doing okay, big guy?
no subject
He was crossing the bridge when he noticed someone was sputtering in the water. Kaldur started to move to jump in but Gizamon stopped him]
Wait. That Crabmon's got it.
[Sure enough there was a crab floating with the unknown teen. Kaldur took the path down to the river's edge.]
What happened?
no subject
Nothing, we're fine.
What made you think you could breathe underwater? [Crabmon asked, loud enough to be overheard.] It's not like you have gills.
I told you, [Percy hissed in response, quiet and hoping the other teenager wouldn't overhear him.] My dad is Poseidon.
And I told you I don't know who that is!
I'll explain again later, okay?
[He looked back up at Kaldur, and realized even if he did have his powers, getting back out of the river was maybe going to pose a tiny bit of a problem, since he couldn't just go around showing off in front of a total stranger.] Do you think you could give us a hand up?
no subject
For the moment he will put it aside, although he missed most of what Percy whispered to Crabmon he did pick up on a familiar name.]
Certainly.
[Kaldur reached out to help pull Percy back to shore. While his own gills were concealed by his jacket at the moment there wasn't much he could do to hide the webbed hands.]
no subject
He did hesitate before reaching over to pull Crabmon back up with him, which made him feel a little bad. The guy did just sort of stop him from drowning like a complete idiot, the least he could do was make sure he didn't get stuck down here, but he was still kind of wary about him, and of the other monsters. It's kind of what happens when you get used to weird creatures popping up and telling you they'd just love to get to know you over breakfast.
It's easier to just look back at the other teenager.]
This isn't your river, is it? I mean, I didn't think there were guy naiads, but I guess I've just never seen one before.
no subject
Then of course there was that mention of Poseidon. He was starting put some pieces together.]
It is not mine nor am I a naiad. I am Atlantean. My name is Kaldur'ahm. I am as much a stranger to this land as you.
no subject
Wait, back up, Atlantean? Like Atlantis? Atlantis, Atlantis?
[Crabmon just looked between the two of them and ended up shrugging with his front claws at Gizamon, because he was more or less accepting that Percy was not going to be listening until he had direct proof that this wasn't some kidnapping scheme by whoever Ares or Arphodite or Kronos were.]
So, do you know Poseidon?

Her thinking was interrupted by the appearance of Percy and Crabmon. They looked like they could use a little help.
Rise walked towards them, smiling. ]
You know, if you wanted to take a free bath I'm sure you would have found another way.
no subject
[Crabmon managed to get them over to the bank, and Percy grabbed on, still blinking water out of his eyes. He really, really missed his usual ability to not actually get wet unless he wanted to be right about now.
And seriously, why did this sort of thing always seem to happen when there were girls around?] Could you give us a hand up?
no subject
She didn't have towel with her. But the best she could do was the loose sweater she was wearing. She was wearing a tank top under it so it shouldn't be a problem. So she took it off and gave it to him. ]
Use this before you catch a cold.
[ Did you catch colds in this world though? ]
no subject
No, it's okay, really, I'll be fine. [Seriously, why did this kind of thing always happen when girls were around?] Thanks for helping us out. Did you just get here?
no subject
By here, do you mean the river or this world? [ Teasing him but she did know what he meant. ]
I arrived a couple of weeks ago. Does that mean you are new here? This is the first time I have seen the new people come out from the river though.
If you want to ask a few questions, I might be able to answer. [ Might. ]
no subject
[He tries not to be too worried about the idea of "a few weeks ago". He was pretty sure this wasn't like the Lotus Hotel, even though he'd worried it was when he'd first gotten here.]
There's seriously no way to talk to people at home? I was kind of in the middle of something when whoever's behind this grabbed me.

Was this...normal?
He glances down at the Gazimon by his side, as she scuttles over to get a better look.]
Wow, he's almost as silly as you when you arrived!
Who said you could talk.
[Nevertheless, he heads over, crouching by the edge of the water, smirking.]
Hey kid, what's with the swim class?
[Gazimon takes this moment to perch on his shoulder, peeking her head over and smiling.]
I'm pretty curious too. Don't leave us hanging!
no subject
Unfortunately, all this combined means he's prone to start making stupid decisions, which is why instead of just politely insisting that he was fine, there was seriously nothing wrong, go about your business, citizen with an oddly shaped head and a weird little... rabbit thing, he's going to start being snarky.
Without knowing who this guy was, what he wanted, or what he was capable of doing.
While he had no superpowers or weapons on hand in case this got ugly.
Good job, Percy, really good job.]
You know, just testing to see how badly you've been polluting your rivers, nothing too interesting. I've gotta hand it to you, whatever you've been dumping in here is pretty nasty, and I'm from New York. I know gross rivers.
[Crabmon, apparently taking this as his cue, decides to chime in.] Yeah!
no subject
Uh huh. Yannow, I hear there's devices that test for that sort of thing. I think...they're called scientists. And you're...
[He tilts his head slightly, as if measuring up the kid.]
...Five? Did I get that right?
[Gazimon puts a claw over her mouth to stifle a giggle, obviously finding this hilarious.]
C'mon, kid, let's get you out of there.
no subject
Although really, he's used to people not really having the same grasp on time that he does, so he's not super offended by it. And getting out of the water seems like a good idea, so he's definitely not above accepting help at the moment.
He grabs on to Crabmon - even if the guy was a monster, he did just jump in to help him, so he's sort of softening on the whole prospect - and reaches out to Wheeljack.]
You think you can pull us both up?
no subject
[When you're hundreds of thousands of years old, you start to generalize things a bit more.
That hand grabs onto Percy's, securing his legs as he pulls up.]
No worries, kid. I was in a million-year war. You learn a thing or two about hoistin' people up.
[Even if one's a crab. With a little oomph, he tugs the kid to the edge, hoping he can grip something himself to help.]
no subject
What's an enchilada?
[Percy just shakes his head before glancing back over at their quasi rescuer.]
You were in a million year war? With who?

You know, if you wanted to go for a swim, I'm sure there are much better places for it.
no subject
I wasn't going for a swim, [Percy grumbles, irritated, although the mention of beaches did kind of get his attention. Saltwater did usually do the job better than freshwater, but if his powers weren't working at all here...] Did you just get here?
no subject
[She raises her eyebrows.] And if you weren't trying to go for a swim, what exactly were you trying to do?
no subject
[Percy cuts him off quickly, because he's not really comfortable just announcing to everyone that he was trying to get in touch with his father by jumping in a river. He didn't know if the Digital World had mental hospitals, but he definitely wasn't in the mood to find out.] I was trying to find my pen. It was stupid, I'm fine.
[Crabmon whispers to him conspiratorially.] I thought you said you couldn't find your pen.
Just go with it, man, we can talk about that later.
no subject
Was a pen really worth falling into a river over?
no subject
[And while he's been promised Crabmon will protect him in the event of an emergency, let's just say Percy will feel a whole lot safer with a sword instead of an oversized crustacean as a defense against anything that wants to eat him.]
And besides, [The Digimon chimed in, determined to help his partner.] It's not so bad down here!
