New Arrivals: Let's Have Some Fun

A calm had swept over Terminal Tokyo, as the Chosen Children had successfully repel the Beemon attack and began to clean up their city. All was well and life would go on, though some scars would take a while to heal. But as the saying goes, there is no rest for the weary.

Another earthquake tore through the Digital World. One on the scale of the one that had brought so many of the current Chosen to the Digtal World. Once again, dozens of Chosen were making their way to the Digital World. Destiny was calling once more and so were their partners...

Every chute in the Terminal Room activated while the small Digimon known as Culumon trembled with excitement. There were so many lonely Digimon that had appeared recently and--finally-- their partners had arrived!

[Connor's timidity disappears quickly enough at that accusation.] I have not lied to anyone! My name is Connor and he said he is my partner. Now please, put him down before you hurt him.

I-it's true, Miss Hibiki! I can recognise my partner when I see him. [Then his ears droop.] But for some reason he's gotten smaller...

[She addresses the bundle of joy in her arms first, obviously growing more conflicted. What's going on...?]

Hngh...that's just it, Armusuke! He's gotten smaller. [She looks back over to the smaller Connor.] You're not the Connor I know. You look kinda like him, but...you're not old enough to be him! And I'm not gonna hurt Armusuke, it's you I'm worried about.

Do you think humans can de-Digivolve too? Because it sure seems like that.

[Connor frowns, too impatient to bother arguing the point.] I did not ask to have him! I didn't ask for any of this. All I want is to go home...

I think humans just keep growing older until they die, actually! And that's usually it for them.

[Wow, ignoring how morbid her partner is being, Hibiki still doesn't set down Armusuke. Something feels off about this. He...really looks like Connor.]

None of us asked to be here! But if you're really Connor...[What's something only he would know? Unfortunately, Hibiki can't really remember anything personal about Connor. Except...] Where are ya from?

The British colonies of America.

[He doesn't specify where, exactly, since Achilles had warned him not to give away his identity. He'd given him his new name for the same reason.]

But who are you? How do you know Armadillomon? [And what's with the nickname?]

Connor and I are roommates. I've been taken care of Armusuke since he vanished.

[She says this with determination. The fact he's not saying anything is suspicious again, and she's not going to let Armusuke go without proof that it's really who he says he is.]

That's why you've gotta do better than that. Don't ya have anything to say about a valley...?

[For what it's worth, Armadillomon really doesn't seem bothered that he's sort of being held hostage. He's a lazy thing and enjoys being carried, especially when it involves being spoiled. Connor doesn't seem willing to answer Hibiki's questions any further, though, dropping his gaze and staring at his shoes, so Armadillomon encourages him.] Go on, Connor, you can tell her.

...You mean the Mohawk Valley? [He says it with some reluctance. Please don't kill him for this, Achilles.] Yes, I'm from there.

[Hmmm...now she gets the feeling that she's the one being too aggressive here. If Connor...this Connor...really was suspicious, he wouldn't be looking at his feet like that, right? After a long moment, she sets Armusuke down, even though she never knew that the name of the valley was. She just knows he was from a valley near New York.]

...Fine. You're smaller and you're not the Connor I know, but someone was talkin' about different times and all that. I'll believe it for now.

[Connor is beginning to look a little pouty at being continously called small -- he'd prided himself on being pretty tall for his age! Meanwhile, Armadillomon ambles back over to him, looking pleased they'd been able to convince her.]

So you were my... "room mate" before? [He says the phrase awkwardly, like he hasn't come across it before.] Where did you -- we -- live?

[It's okay, Connor is probably still taller than Hibiki, she's less than five feet tall...he's just smaller! As in compared to before. She crosses her arms.]

Mm, that's right. We live in a building not too far from here. There's an empty room, but it's just you and me. [...] I'm Hibiki. Hibiki Ganaha. Um, from Japan...you asked me about that once.

Japan? I have never met anyone from so far away.

[Or maybe he's the one from far away, given this all is parts of Tokyo... Either way, anything outside his valley is new and exciting to him, no matter where it is.]

I would like to hear about it some time-- if you do not mind.

[Yes...yes, you have Connor, but Hibiki's going to drop it.]

Mm...that'd be fun. My home is pretty amazin', so I never get tired of talkin' about it. [She sighs.] But...you should probably settle in and stuff first, alright? [Again.] You got any questions?
