play, play, play! (april 2013-- game start!)
Characters: EVERYONE!
When: 4 March 2013
Where: Terminal Room or all over town!
What: An open mingle log for everyone to play in!
The Digital World had been having a great deal of earthquakes the last six months. The first was the largest of them and had ended in the shifting of the planes. Since then earthquakes happened periodically, often sending new Chosen Children with it. At first it was Chosen that the Digital World knew and rejoiced, but now and then it would send new Chosen.
Today was different, however. The earthquake that rattled the Digital World felt almost as bad as the first, but there was a difference this time. Suddenly dozens of children were making their way to the Digital World. Destiny was calling and so were their partners...
Every chute in the Terminal Room activated while the small Digimon known as Culumon trembled with excitement. There were so many lonely Digimon that had appeared recently and--finally-- their partners had arrived!
OOC: Feel free to mark your characters in different locations! They can be just arriving in the Terminal Room you read about in the arrival post or anywhere on the map! Also feel free to mark the day for each thread. You can also request to play with Culumon, too! Have fun, guys!

[Somewhere on a bench right outside the meeting hall, her face practically buried in her D-Terminal, sits a quiet white-haired teenager. Her ankles are crossed, her posture relaxed, and her gaze and expression even as she scans the contents of her new device in silence. At her feet is a Labramon. . . a fairly excitable one judging by the way she's circling her partner's feet, tail wagging and ears perked forward]
Kyoukooooo!
[There's no response as the girl continues to read, clearly absorbed in her work]
Kyoukokyoukokyoukokyoukooooo--
-- yes, Labramon?
[The girl interrupts, and her gaze finally flickers up from her D-Terminal. The Labrador's ears twitch, and she leaps up to rest her paws on her partner's lap, tongue lolling out of her mouth.]
Hey! You shouldn't waste your time reading! There's a lot to explore, you know? Let's get going! My nose can sniff out the best of adventures!
Adventure isn't quite what I'm after. [Kyouko lifts a gloved finger and taps at the screen of her D-Terminal] And adventure without preparation and knowledge is foolhardy.
[Labramon lets out a small whine, before she rests her muzzle on Kyouko's knee, nose twitching]
So I gotta wait till you're done reading that guide. . .?
If you will. [Again, the girl drops her gaze to the device in front of her] They do say patience is a virtue.
And boredome killed the cat. . .
Curiosity, actually. [A small smile quirks up the corners of Kyouko's lips] But perhaps, that's close enough.
[Kyouko seems pretty absorbed with the Newbie Guide on her D-Terminal, but for anyone walking close enough, they may find themselves tailed by a pretty happy-go-lucky Labramon sniffing at their feet]
no subject
You, er - lose something? Or someone?
She's just being friendly! ...I think. [The Veemon smiles sheepishly at no one.]
no subject
I'm just being friendly, I promise! I'm Labramon, and. . . um. . .
[She glances over at where her partner was sitting-- by now, Kyouko had once again looked up from her D-Terminal and was watching Walter curiously]
I don't think my partner is very social. But I'd like for her to meet people!
no subject
Walter looks back at Labramon's girl with reciprocated curiosity, glancing back once at his own new scaly blue friend -]
I'm Veemon! He's Walter!
[- and then back at her. Balls, there were so many kids dragged here - sure, the name for people like them was, apparently, "Chosen Children", but still... it left him uncomfortably wondering exactly under what circumstances they were brought here.
He pushes his mind off of it and onto the device she'd been so fixed on.
After one more beat, he goes and calls out.]
Hello.
You've got the hang of - [He produces his own terminal.] - these, yet?
no subject
For the most part, yes, though only through trial and error. There's a rather useful guide attached to our welcome message.
[Her voice is calm, even. And Walter may get the feeling he is being scrutinized carefully]
no subject
I'll look into that.
[He says it slightly disinterestedly - first he'll get through how she means "attached", how to access it, even clicking on things and links isn't exactly an idea with an equivalent in Albion.
Veemon, meanwhile, is stuck on "trial and error." He quirks a lizardy brow.]
D-Terminals are that weird to humans?
I, for one, am still muddled by the whole "digital"-ness concept that's so plainly essential here, so don't mind if I'm not master of otherworldly gizmos in a - hrmfh.
[He's cut off when pixels flicker in the center of his torso and he winces, feels a wave of light-headedness. Veemon asks him if he's all right, and he huffs that he hopes so.]
no subject
What was that?
no subject
That... I was in a battle. Before I got thrown in there of course. [Looks back in the direction that they'd come from.] I'm not exactly sure what that means, but it's in about the same place I was wounded.
[Which actually gives him room to round away from it to his earlier concern.] Look - you weren't in a, a place like that before you were brought in here, too, were you?
no subject
[At his question, her expression hardens slightly, but she shakes her head]
No. I wasn't hurt or wounded in any capacity before I was taken here, to the Digital World.
[She sweeps the question aside and strides forward, focusing her attention on the area where the data flickered earlier]
Are you still injured?

And before he can do anything, Gomamon- who is riding on Hiccup's shoulders with his arms around his neck- suddenly speaks up, tapping the side of Hiccup's cheek with a claw.]
Heeey, Kyouko? That's'a pretty cool name, isn't it? ...Now why did my partner hafta get stuck with the weird one? Hiccup. Hic-cup. That's an annoying reflex, not a name!
no subject
It's pretty, isn't it? You should hear her last name too, it rhymes--
[But she is cut off rather swiftly by Kyouko clearing her throat]
. . . Hiccup? How did you come by a name like that one?
[It seems the detective's interests have been piqued enough for her to speak without being addressed first]
no subject
Ahh well uh...I'm a viking back where I'm from. So it's sortof customary to give your kid a horrible name to scare the trolls and gnomes away.
How weird.
no subject
[. . . there's skepticism in her voice, but only for a moment before it fades. The guide did say something about multiple worlds, after all. It wasn't outside the realm of possibility for one of them to have vikings, however antiquated they were in her own timeline]
Hiccup isn't very frightening at all.
no subject
[Hiccup doesn't notice the motion Gomamon makes behind his head, pretending to gag while pointing his claws into his mouth.]
It got the job done back home, anyway.
no subject
Haddock-kun, then. I give your parents props for being creative with names.
no subject
Well...thanks I guess. Either way it's uh...nice to meet you! I didn't expect to be meeting so many other people here.
[And apparently they all were like him, if Labramon's presence was any evidence of that.]
no subject
["Kyouko" felt a bit too personal, despite Labramon calling her by her given name]
There are quite a few. Upon arrival it is surprising, but when you take that into account with the information we've been given, it's understandable.

You're such a good girl! Are you stuck here too?
no subject
I live here! [She responds proudly] You do too now, right?
no subject
[ Iori doesn't respond to the question, she just absentmindedly continues rubbing Labramon's tummy. ]
Is this one yours? [ Iori looks up at Kyouko, directing the question to her. ]
no subject
Labramon? She's supposedly my "partner," yes.
no subject
[ Her Elecmon does as close to a face palm as he possibly can. He looks really embarrassed, poor guy... ]
no subject
I. . . suppose?
[Labramon just wriggles a bit excitedly on the ground]
Hee, she called me cute. . . hey, don't you have a partner who'd want to help you, too?
no subject
[ She looks back at Elecmon. He looks hopeful for a bit, but then she turns back to Labramon again. ]
He isn't cute enough to be on stage with me. Maybe he could take care of the lighting or something?
[ Cue a huge sigh from Elecmon. Having a fickle partner is hard. ]
no subject
[Kyouko heaves a sigh at Labramon's suggestion]
What kind of performer are you, anyway? Do you sing? Do you dance? Do you act?
