Last month had been relatively calm, with only a new Dark Area being found.

But once again, that calm was disrupted.  For the third consecutive time, an earthquake tore through the Digital World. One on the scale of the one that had brought so many of the current Chosen to the Digtal World. Once again, dozens of Chosen were making their way to the Digital World. Destiny was calling once more and so were their partners.  Mayhaps even some of the Choosen that have been here for a while, have predicted this to happen, today.

Every chute in the Terminal Room activated while the small Digimon known as Culumon trembled with excitement. There were so many lonely Digimon that had appeared recently and--finally-- their partners had arrived!

Yes he is, just try to ignore him.

You can't ignore the truth, no matter how hard you try. It eats away at you like a hole in your gut, digging deeper, swallowing up everything about you until-

[She shoves a breadstick in his mouth and he is stifled for a moment]

Even if they are new that's no reason for you to be so invasive.

If that's how he likes talking about people, he should write a book!

[ Sissel finally turns to see what Jinx is doing, nostrils twitching as the delicious scents keep assaulting him. The digimon behind the bar seems to be whipping something up anyway, even if Sissel's already getting rather impatient. ]

What's this about being new? You mean, people who just got here? [ Hmm... ] Is that really the only way into this place? It was like suddenly I was the toy mouse getting whipped around everywhere.

[Jinx has some crispy wontons in front of her and she's sipping a cup of what appears to be sake, how old is she!?]

Yeah that's about the size of it. Forces beyond our control dragged us here to save the world but there's still no obvious villain or task to accomplish.

The great mystery continues, every day new pieces fall into place.

More like every few weeks maybe.

So it's a mystery... with nowhere to start?

[ Sissel reaches for a wonton without even asking. What? It's not like anyone's ever tried to teach a kitten manners before! ]

Just great. Can't get enough of those.

[badluckbabe]

Sure seems that way.

[With grace and dexterity she twirls her chopsticks around in her fingers and whaps his hand with them]

I bought yours.

[ Sissel snaps his hand back, looking affronted and more than a little confused. That... that's pain, right? He hasn't felt it in ten years; it's hard to even remember he's supposed to. ]

Hey! Watch it!

It's okay, Sissel! We're getting our own, see?

But there's food right there already... And how am I supposed to buy stuff, anyway?

[There's a pause as Jinx's eyes narrow and she studies the younger boy. Her pupils are the same shape as a cats interesting enough]

Oh...I think I get it now.

Get what?

[To test her theory she rolls up the paper wrapper from a stray till it's a thin twisty piece and twitches it like a cat toy in her fingertips]

[ Good idea, Jinx. Sissel can't help it, something moving out of nowhere and instincts has him jerking for it to try and snatch it in his hand, fingers poised for his nails to get a hold if he can. What's it doing?

Terriermon bobs with the sudden motion from his position on Sissel's back, and clasps a paw to his mouth to keep from snickering. ]

Ah—!

[A coy smirk]

I knew it~

Remember how Fluttershy said she wasn't human before she got here?

[Jinx reaches out and gives the kid a skritch behind his ear]

I'm guessing this cat boy was more cat then boy.

[ Sissel's ear twitches and he pulls back halfway at the approach of a hand he doesn't know, but then he's getting scritches and he can definitely deal with it for now. He leans into it, clearly enjoying it. However, ear scratches are not going to keep him from being smarmy. ]

Wasn't it obvious already?

Not as obvious as you might think.

[Stops petting him to resume her meal]

Either way you're mostly human now so you'll have to learn how to deal. Starting with only stealing food from people too slow or stupid to notice or stop you.

[Noir seems to consider this and slides his bowl away from them]

[ Sissel plops his chin back on the table while he watches her eat. The tip of his tail is swishing back and forth where it nearly meets the ground. ]

What if I said please? Isn't that what people do?

[badluckbabe]

Correct. Then it's not stealing, it's asking.

Which is better then stealing.

But more boring and less fun.

[ Sissel puts a smile on, ears high. ]

In that case... Please?

Oh come on, Sissel! Our food's almost ready! Give it a moment.

Why can't I go for both?

[Smirks at him]

No~

Aw come on Doll! Don't be like that he's just a kid...or kitten. Something.

Just because he asks doesn't mean he gets. That's another part of being human.

Is that why you steal?

[Noir rolls his eyes and puts some noodles in a sauce dish passing it to the catboy apparently trying to make up for how greedy Jinx is]

[ Sissel sits up at the offer of food, leaning over as if to start eating when suddenly Terriermon's ears puff out behind him, pulling Sissel back — nearly off the stool, in fact! — before he lets the air out and Sissel regains his balance. ]

What was that for, Terrier?!

Don't use your snout, use your hands! That's what we've got 'em for, you see?

Oh... Fine, I guess I can see the point of that. [ Which means he then begins to pick up small handfuls to bring to his mouth instead. Baby steps! Of course, he does know what utensils are and how people use them, but he never really did get the why of it. If people can pick things up, why not cut out the middle man? ]

[Jinx pulls a face and adjusts her grip on the chop sticks she was using]

You use your hands to keep your face clean. You use utensils to keep your hands clean.

Cats are like Tailmon right? I've never seen a Tailmon eat with their snout.

[interconnect]

That's what tongues are for, keeping your hands clean. [ Check and mate! Sissel continues to nibble on the noodles until the cooking-mon finally plops a large bowl of ramen chock full of meat, vegetables and even an egg in front of him, big enough for himself and his partner. It's a special for the Chosen Children... but that doesn't mean it's free. ]

Uh... [ Sissel tilts his head in obvious confusion of what he's supposed to do with the demand. ] Well, maybe if I knew what that was?

It's payment! I make you food, you make me money. Ya geddit?

[Jinx puts a palm to her face in exasperation Noir looks baffled]

Uh...not to tell you how to do your job Terriermon but you really should have warned him about money and stuff...I mean it's not like he's been here long enough to make any.

[interconnect]

[ Terriermon sticks a tongue out at Tsukaimon before he climbs around the front of Sissel to stand on the table, then holds a paw out. ]

No worries, no worries! I've got this. Sissel, where's that thing you were holding onto? The one you got in the big room?

Uh... here, I think. [ Sissel pulls back to retrieve the D-Terminal from his pocket and holds it out for Terriermon. ] Why? This doesn't have to do with the money, does it?

Watch 'n learn, partner! [ After a moment of fiddling around on the device, Terriermon flips it around and holds it up with both paws for the 'mon behind the bar to inspect. ] Lookie here! We've got 1000 bit, so you can take it off our account for the meal!

Hrm... [ Cooking 'mon takes the D-Terminal for a moment to process the transation, then hands it back. ] Bon appetit.

[ Sissel waits a moment before he addresses the company at large. ] What was that all about?

The necessary evil of a so called civilized world.

It's pretty simple kitten so listen close. Everyone wants something in this life. Sometimes they want lots of somethings. So for example...

[She scoops up the noodle bowl Noir was enjoying making him cry out in protest while she holds it over his head.]

Say Noir is hungry and wants to eat. But he doesn't have any food. Well I have plenty of food. But I'm not just gonna give it away for free. I worked hard for that food. So he has to give me something, in exchange I'll give him what he wants.

Or a trade.

Now, say we both had food, and he had some items to trade. I might think the items are worth more then you think they are.

So, to make things fair, most cultures use money as a base line to figure out what things are worth.

But if I think they're worth less, how is using money going to help with that?

Then you either argue with the clerk, steal it, or take your money elsewhere.

Don't steal it. You'll get locked up.
