After an endless dream, in this world of nothingness, it seems as if our beloved dreams will lose

Who: Everyone taking part in the Adventure Time! Event.
What: Chosen trying to find their way around the changed File Island.
When: August 1st - 3rd
Where: File Island

Early in the morning, wherever they are, Chosen are tormented by data streams. They aren't very accurate data stream, so they may miss. But they ones who are hit by them will find themselves on some part of File Island, and they'll find themselves closed off from the outside world.

They'll find video and audio recordings don't work. They'll find, if they've been to the island, that some places may not appear like they always have. They'll find that this isn't quite the File Island as it was before.

Wherever they are on the island, whoever they run into, something will be constant: their digivices will blink, pointing them like a compass toward File Island's center, Infinity Mountain.

It's time to go and see what that's about.

[ooc: This will be the catch-all log for the event! Below will be threads of all the places, both basic and specific, that your characters will be able to go. The last thread will be for the Infinity Mountain event endgame, and though your characters can arrive there early, it will take place on day three of the event.

NPCs will drift through the threads, depending on where you are. For the purposes of this event, if you are not okay with NPC interaction, please say so in your thread, for example if you and someone else have a non-NPC thread idea. Otherwise, all threads are open to NPC intervention, though not all will receive it. Please also mark which day your threads take place on. And remember, have fun! The map and the ooc info can help with location issues.]

I am sure you are aware that not all of the Digimon you encounter in this world are going to be friendly. But some....some have been affected by what is known as a black gear. It empowers evil Digimon, and causes the formerly good to lose their minds and attack without thinking.

But the Digivice-

[He points at Kovu's digivice, which is still on the rock where he dropped it.]

Is able to dispel the gears and destroy them.

[thescaronhisface]

[Kovu goes to pick it up, grunting and flinching a bit from all the cuts and scrapes.]

...So the only reason I'm not dead right now is this thing.

No one said anything about black gears, but isn't there a virus or something someone was talking about?

[He looks at Lopmon, who nods.]

It was driving Digimon crazy just like you were.

[chimons]

[Leomon sighs, closing his eyes for a moment.]

I hope you understand now, as well as understand that I do not intend you or your partner any harm. I only wish to be of service to you.

[thescaronhisface]

I used to be a lion before I got dragged here. Go figure, you're the closest to another one I've met that's not a cub, and you were possessed by something that made you wanna kill me.

I don't think I understand any of this. I thought everything was complicated before I got here, but now I don't get anything at all.

[chimons]

I understand your confusion. I wish there was more I could do to help you, but I'm afraid I cannot. ..Especially when it seems you've come from a world that's far different from this one.

[Well, beyond the fact that Kovu used to be a lion, anyway.]

But you must remember you were brought here for a reason. All of the Chosen are, whether they be a child or adult.

[Since Leomon has seen a surprising amount of adults to go along with the children.]

[Kovu sighs.]

My whole life, I was the "chosen one." I was the special guy who was supposed to take back the Pride Lands.

...But they were lying to me the whole time. How do I know this is any different?

[Lopmon cringes. He hasn't heard this before...and now a lot of the way Kovu's been acting makes more sense.]

[chimons]

In this world, you are not the only chosen one. You are just one that make up the many that are going to save this world from destruction. ...But it is for you to decide if you wish to continue on that path. Nobody is going to force you into it.

[thescaronhisface]

It's not like I have much of a choice.

[He stands up.]

There's nothing else I can do here. I can't hunt. I don't know anything about talking to anyone. I don't even know how all the human stuff in this world works.

[chimons]

[The larger Digimon hesitates before taking a cautious step closer to the cliff's edge, looking down at Kovu.]

It definitely will take some getting used to, since not only are you in a foreign world, but a foreign body as well. If I knew of a way to send you back to your home, I would.

But I'm afraid that's not possible.

[thescaronhisface]

Yeah...I know.

[He's sounding less angry now, and more just...defeated.]

...Sorry.

[chimons]

You have nothing to apologize for. It isn't your fault that you were brought here in the first place.

[Leomon pauses, crouching down to get a better look at Kovu.]

...What is your name? I am called Leomon.

[thescaronhisface]

[Kovu can't even look Leomon in the eyes.]

...Kovu.

[chimons]

[Leomon pauses for a moment, looking from Kovu to Lopmon and back.]

It seems you have gone through quite a lot for one so young, both here and elsewhere.

[thescaronhisface]

Y...yeah.

[His human body feels awkward now more than ever. He's shifting around anxiously, and even while standing couldn't possibly look less comfortable. All the cuts and scrapes on him aren't helping any, either.]

[chimons]

[Leomon studies Kovu for a moment, before suddenly asking.]

You seem....troubled. Is there something you wish to talk about?

[thescaronhisface]

What's the point?

[Lopmon's been a little worried about his partner this entire time because of how moody he always is, but...now that he's seeing Kovu like this, he almost wishes he could give him a hug.]

Kovu...

[chimons]

The point would be to express whatever insecurities you are feeling so I may offer you some advice. I feel as if you were to get advice from any other Digimon, it would be from me.

[Because of reasons, of course.]

[thescaronhisface]

Why? Because you're a lion?

[Not only does Kovu sound unconvinced...he sounds almost venomous.]

[chimons]

Yes.

[Leomon's bluntness isn't to be harsh- it's because that's genuinely why he feels even more strongly about wanting to help this young boy. He figured having a kindred spirit would help him feel better, at least...but the sound of his voice is telling him otherwise.]

[thescaronhisface]

Not helping.

[chimons]

Well what would you wish for me to do, then?

[thescaronhisface]

[...Right. Leomon really is trying to help.]

I don't know. I spent my whole life thinking the only thing I was good for was killing the King. How am I supposed to save anyone?

[Lopmon can't even think of what to say. The way Kovu's talking, it's like he really did kill the King...but he couldn't have...right?]

But you'd never do that, Kovu!

[chimons]

Kovu....I once knew a Digidestined a lot like you. His path was heavily dictated by the actions of those around him, and he was helpless to do anything about it. He was young, but he was smart. He knew that something wasn't adding up, and he was determined to figure out what his purpose here was meant to be.

What he learned was that nobody can tell you who or what you are. That is for you, and you alone, to decide.

[thescaronhisface]

[Kovu can't even say anything. Ever since he was a cub, the only path he'd ever had was being Scar's heir. That was all anyone ever cared about. He could never just be "Kovu," he was the Chosen One, we was the one who'd take over the Pride Lands...and not even for himself. It was all for Zira. That was what she wanted. The only one who ever cared about him...was Kiara.]

I...I don't even know where to start...

[He breathes out slowly.]

I know I have to try, but...

[Lopmon limps over to Kovu, and puts a paw against his leg.]

You don't have to do it alone, Kovu. I'm your partner, and I'm not going anywhere.

[chimons]

Lopmon is right, Kovu. You might feel like you're alone, and it might seem that way...but you never really are. You have more friends here than you might realize.

It's not going to be easy, but it won't be impossible. You don't have to know where to begin. The thing to focus on is taking the first step.
