Who: Everyone taking part in the Adventure Time! Event.
What: Chosen trying to find their way around the changed File Island.
When: August 1st - 3rd
Where: File Island

Early in the morning, wherever they are, Chosen are tormented by data streams. They aren't very accurate data stream, so they may miss. But they ones who are hit by them will find themselves on some part of File Island, and they'll find themselves closed off from the outside world.

They'll find video and audio recordings don't work. They'll find, if they've been to the island, that some places may not appear like they always have. They'll find that this isn't quite the File Island as it was before.

Wherever they are on the island, whoever they run into, something will be constant: their digivices will blink, pointing them like a compass toward File Island's center, Infinity Mountain.

It's time to go and see what that's about.

[ooc: This will be the catch-all log for the event! Below will be threads of all the places, both basic and specific, that your characters will be able to go. The last thread will be for the Infinity Mountain event endgame, and though your characters can arrive there early, it will take place on day three of the event.

NPCs will drift through the threads, depending on where you are. For the purposes of this event, if you are not okay with NPC interaction, please say so in your thread, for example if you and someone else have a non-NPC thread idea. Otherwise, all threads are open to NPC intervention, though not all will receive it. Please also mark which day your threads take place on. And remember, have fun! The map and the ooc info can help with location issues.]

FOREST AREA/FOREST OF IRRELEVANT ROAD-SIGNS

[A forest filled with nonsensical road-signs. It's concurrent with the forest area, though road-signs can be found where any trees are.

The forest provides shelter, but watch out for Kuwagamon.]

Day 1

[Bartholomew stares at the road signs as if they will provide some clue. Perry stands just a few feet behind him, also studying the signs that seem to have no purpose except to lead you in circles or make no sense at all.

Wasn't there something in a book like this? Perry can't be sure, but it's crazy and silly enough to first make him think of Phineas and Ferb and then think of Doctor Doof making some sort of...Roadsigninator.

Perry sighs and looks to his left. They can't be the only ones out there can they? He pulls out his digivice and gives it a shake. Usually it would alert him to other Chosen, but now it just seems to be telling him to head in a specific direction.

COELA BEACH

[The longest beach that occupies the island. There are areas of the beach where lines of phone booths that call to nowhere stand. Maybe you’ll hear someone talking, but they can’t hear you if you try talking to them. Odds are, you don’t even know who it is. It might be half of someone’s phone call, it might be a foreign phone operator.]

Just her luck. Not only getting hit with one data stream, but two in a row. Yoko had just gotten back from her time away, only getting the chance to get a hot shower in and pass out before she found herself mysteriously waking up on a beach.

Not the dreamland beach either. Pretty sure her dreams don't have dozens of random phone booths lying around.

"You've got to be kidding me! This again?!"

She slammed her fists down, drawing up a cloud of sand and salt. So, let's evaluate the situation at hand.

Lost? Check.

No supplies at hand? Check.

Annoying bee who thankfully hasn't woken up yet? Che-

"What did you do this time?"

-Scratch that last part. "I didn't do anything you stupid bug. What did you do?"

"Me? You're the one who just got back from her vacation while other people were doing something actually important."

"It wasn't a vacation and you know that." And the yelling match between the two was well underway. Back and forths on whose fault this is, making fun of the fact Yoko was in her pajamas, punching Fanbeemon in the face, same old same old. Sorry to anyone they happen wake up.

TROLLEY ISLAND

[Somewhere between the forest and the desert. A trolley car on a little island, with sparking power towers in the lake, that lead to nowhere; Seadramon lives here. He likes to sleep with his tail on the island, buried in the sand! ...Watch out.]

TELEPHONE POLE DESERT

[A desert full of telephone poles. Concurrent with the desert area on the map. The temperatures are scorching hot during the day, but plummet to near-freezing at night. At least you’re not too far from either beach to the west or the shelter of a forest to the north.]

YOKOMON VILLAGE

[A village full of Yokomon. Notably, the Biyomon and Birdramon guardian are absent, and the Yokomon will behave as if they never were there. Just outside a cluster of small thatched-roof houses is a half-sunken cruise liner where the village’s residents take shelter when things get bad.]

Open - Day 1

Well, Chika was totally, completely confused right now. Honestly, this was only the second month she was here, but it was really starting to look like that the Digital World really didn't give them any break at all.

At least things weren't all that bad though. The Yokomon were pretty nice... if a bit too attached to Biyomon. If the fact that he was surrounded by a few of them was any indication.

"So, they really seem to like you, don't they?"

Biyomon nodded, grabbing one of the Yokomon who decided to climb onto his back and put it back down on the ground. "Yeah. They really do. I wonder why."

POWERPLANT

[As it sounds, a powerplant, filled with various devices, chambers with ancient digicode that run the whole factory’s power. Assembly lines. It puts things together then takes them apart. Andromon lives here. He’s malfunctioning. Relevant to the map, it’s near the rain-forest area.]

Day 2

[As much as she loves being dragged away from her usually tight schedule--Oh wait, she doesn't. This whole "being dropped off somewhere for no reason" is scrap and now everything is out of whack.

...Although, at least she isn't somewhere uncomfortable. Honestly, the power plant reminds her of her times on Cybertron, where she would explore nooks and crannies very similar to this. Even in a human body, she didn't really feel out of place.

She's cautious as she explores, hugging walls around ever corner and constantly ready to use Sprocket just in case something decides to attack her; something ALWAYS wants to attack her.

Sprocket doesn't appear to be as on edge, humming a tune as he follows along. Although...it echos strangely in this metal maze, and his child-like voice almost makes it sound eerie.]

UNDERGROUND WATERWAY

[AKA a sewer, connected to the powerplant, absolutely invested with Numemon. It lets out a little ways away from Toy Town.]

day 1

[Ugh, gross. Shiki's beginning to think that ending up in sewers is going to end up becoming a thing or something, and her boots are definitely not made for this. Maybe she should invest in some boots that are - but Wellingtons are just never ever going to be in fashion.]

Ugh. Don't think about it, Shiki. Little Diablo? Are you around here?

Right here. Something is seriously glitched, Shiki. Check your D-Terminal.

[Shiki checks it, and frowns.] I think it got waterlogged or something, it's not working the way it usually does.

Great. I'm stuck in a sewer with you and we can't contact anyone for help.

Hey, I don't want to be here either, let's just - oh! [Shiki fishes her Digivice out of her pocket.] It's blinking and pointing that way. Should we follow it?

. . . It can't hurt any, I guess. [Lalamon sounds seriously disgruntled about this.]

TOY TOWN

[A town like an amusement park, where all abandoned Digimon toys go! Full of games, events...and Monzaemon, who will try to brainwash you.]

Beastboy and Rita look absolutely baffled as they had just passed through their apartment door and arrived in some colorful toy box turned village. Bright colors, rounded edges and childhood memories everywhere.

"At least you're not naked this time?" Rita joked weakly making Beastboy grin sheepishly.

"Yeah...that might get me arrested around here. It looks like the coolest playground ever." He set out to explore with a spring in his step and a twinkle in his eye.

Time for an adventure!

RAINFOREST AREA

[Smaller than usual on File Island, because a lot of it is taken up by less tropical forests now. It's incredibly humid. Throughout the dense rain forest, it’s possible to come across small, unmarked rivers that trail down from the craggy areas to the north. Some may even empty out into little ponds by way of waterfalls.]

day 1

[The rainforest reminds Sonata of Funghistar, if only a little. Of course, there's no Funghi here, just wild Digimon somewhere, and while Sonata might want to explore, she's also curiously following her Digivice, while Penguinmon waddles along as usual. Chosen and Digimon still aren't on the best of terms, but their relationship is civil at best at this point, which is probably an upgrade from Sonata dragging him around everywhere.]

We should remain on the lookout for any danger-

You don't need to lecture Sonata! Sonata's been trained in how to fight if we run into trouble.

GEYSER AREA

[A sudden influx of snow, on the edge of the rainforest and the rocky area. Also full of geysers (...and random refrigerators full of food, mostly eggs) that are WAY too hot to touch. It’s where Mount Kea is on the map, and Mount Kea is gone. Unimon is around here.]

We're going to die.

You're being overdramatic. [Palmon shook her head, calm even in the face of Waver's utterly defeated tone.] We're not gonna die. Just keep following that thing, maybe it'll get us out of here.

[He looked to the Digivice in his hand, making sure they were still walking in the right direction.] I don't think I like this, Palmon. We don't know where this thing is leading us. And you know what happened last time we wandered off on our own.

I saved your cranky face from getting bitten off.

Not exactly the point I'm trying to make here.

ROCKY CLIFFS

[An area of rocks and hills and cliffs. The trees are far and few in between, leaving the majority of the flora that exists as scrubs.]

[After the craziness that happened in Toy Town, Kovu decided to split off from the group and go exploring on his own. He felt more comfortable this way, with just Lopmon for company.

They've made it to an area that's reminding him of the Outlands, nothing but cliffs and rocks. Again his human body proves a nuisance, as he tries to climb them to get a better view of the land. More than once his foot slips, or his hand, and Lopmon has to catch him, but finally they reach a spot where they've got plenty of room to sit and rest a moment.]

ICE AREA

[A set of freezing icy islands to the north. Mojyamon and Frigimon live here. Beware, it's always cold.]

day 1

[The inaccuracy of the data stream and the early hour meant that Ryan got transported with his blanket, which . . . isn't really helping any. Mimi's there too, though, which means that he's huddled close to her and trying to keep warm.]

Ryan? Ryan, I think something is blinking in your pocket.

Huh? [Ryan shifts around a little and manages to get the Digivice up to his face.] Well, that's weird.

[Mimi moves to see it.] It's pointing somewhere. Maybe we should follow it.

This is cruel and unusual punishment. [Ryan's complaining, but he's still standing up.] Seriously, this place is trying to kill me.

OLD RUINS

[In the rain-forest area. A labyrinth, with ancient digicode ruins like the powerplant. There are various rooms with holes in the ground. Centarumon lives here.]

Day One

*Jin and his Veemon got dropped toward the entrance to the ruins, but rather than leave immediately, Jin decided to turn and go inside.*

Uh Jin, aren't we going the wrong way? If we're trying to get back to Terminal Tokyo, shouldn't we be, oh, I don't know, leaving the ruins?

If we were in a hurry, yes. But I see no reason to rush. We've been given the opportunity to explore much further away from the city than we could manage on foot without paying for the Trailmon, don't you think that's worth taking advantage of?

Maybe if it wasn't so hot. Hey, I've got an idea! Why don't I evolve and use my awesome ice magic to cool everything down?

*Jin shakes his head.*

I wouldn't trust it not to damage the ruins. Besides, it's not that hot.

Coming from the guy whose girlfriend shoots fireballs.

Actually, I was comparing it to some of the planets I've visited. Their climates varied a considerable amount. Now... *He reaches out to touch one of the walls, brushing dust aside so he can see the carvings better.* Would you care to help me translate this?

BAKEMON CHURCH

[An old, rundown church where the Bakemon live, celebrating holidays and looking for people to eat. It's around the cliff area.]

Day 2

*After their adventure in the ruins, Jin and Yukito have managed to make it out of the rainforest in one piece and to the cliffs. It's not as hot here, but just as tiring. Which makes the old church a welcome, if unexpected, sight.*

Hey Jin, look! It's a building! You think it has chairs?

Benches are more likely. But you can't be telling me you're tired already.

Well excuse me for not having your giant legs. I've gotta climb the stuff you just step right on over!

Aren't digimon supposed to be more durable than humans?

You fight a Centarumon and we'll see how well you take tromping through a forest and climbing hills and cliffs!

*Jin sighs, shakes his head, and looks at his digivice. He's still not entirely sure where it's leading them, but they have covered a lot of ground since yesterday, so...*

Alright, we can stop and rest. Just keep in mind that we aren't spending the night here.

*With surprising energy for someone who was just complaining about how tired his legs were, Yukito runs off toward the church.*

PRIMARY VILLAGE

[Elecmon watches over baby Digimon here. Notably, there is a train crossing near here with no train, even though trains can be heard and it will act like ones are going through.]

RUINED MANSION

[Adjacent to the event endgame area of Infinity Mountain, a big mansion, with baths, food, and comfortable beds...but none of it’s REALLY there. It’s an illusion. It will eventually glitch out, the only thing real are the beds and the basic structure, it’s actually a ruin.]

"Ahhh~ this is the life!"

What had started out as an average day of painting public property for fun and profit had taken a surprisingly relaxing night. One minute Jinx and Noir [still a runty Kuramon] had been on their way into town with her art supplies, the next minute they were at the entrance to a mysterious mansion.

Exploring the lush home had been great fun once the anxiety of the unknown had been overrun by curiosity. And what's more this old ornate building had an elaborate old style Japanese bath! Jinx had never enjoyed such luxury and decided to take advantage of her good fortune.

Helping herself to a bottle of red wine from the cellar the pink haired girl was lounging in the hot steamy water, letting her pale skin enjoy the bath salts as she sipped someone else's drink.

Being so small, Noir was bobbing about in a bucket as it drifted through the water. Both were at peace and their guard lowered despite Jinx knowing full well that sooner or later her bad luck would come back to bite her.

But for now? A happy sigh as she sank up to her shoulders and relaxed.

INFINITY MOUNTAIN

[The center of the island, the highest point. What's up here? You'll have to find out.]

day 3 | end

Night's falling, and as it does, whatever Chosen are there - or are arriving - will start to see something, a scene wispy and see-through, ghosts of the past.

They might recognize some of the kids, the Chosen, but some of them younger, like Koushirou. They stand looking up at an odd castle at the top of the mountain, which is very much there, and Black Gears swarm toward the building, resulting in a Devimon, much larger than any in existence, rising from the top.

And no matter what the new Chosen do or say, whatever attacks or comments thrown at the original Chosen or the virus Digimon, they will continue on, as if they haven't heard anything.

[ooc: You have your choice of whichever you want to watch. The first is the scene in Japanese, the second in English. Anyone on the island can get in a reaction tag if they'd like, going to about 3:18 on the Japanese or 12:35 on the English. The next NPC tag will cover the rest of the battle.]
