Just in Time for the Movies.
Characters: Everyone! (Only new arrivals are allowed in the Terminal Room)
When: Starting August 4th, 2013
Where: Terminal Room or all over town!
What: An open mingle log for everyone to play in!
Last month, there was no earthquake signalling new arrivals.
That's not a pattern; the ground quakes, the chutes in the Terminal Room activate, and Culumon trembles with excitement. There are so many lonely Digimon that had appeared recently and--finally-- their partners have arrived!
With Chosen disappearing every now and then, fresh faces will be very helpful.
OOC: Feel free to mark your characters in different locations! They can be just arriving in the Terminal Room you read about in the arrival post or anywhere on the map! Also feel free to mark the day for each thread. You can also request to play with Culumon, too! Have fun, guys!

Anyway, I take it you've been here for a while?

Have you read the newbie guide yet? It's a complete crock of badly-organized shit, but it's a starting point.
no subject
Read it right before Bunny took my device and ran off with it. It was a starting point, but it left a lot of questions.
What the heck does "experienced Chosen" mean?

These things? [He holds the Digivice out to her, the device resting in his palm]
Why're they different?

Hey, don't complain too much, it ain't like you guys are here alone.
I'm not sure you count.
So cold!

Oh, right. You heard the part about 'evolution' even though I want to find whoever named it that and hit them with a very large stick in the guide, right?
no subject
[He pockets his Digivice again and frowns down at Elecmon]
Something about working together and borrowing our energy to get bigger. The guide only talked about the theory, though. I dunno how it really works in practice.

That aside, it uses our emotions as fuel to undergo rapid aging to a point in their life cycle where they are far more powerful, and apparently there is a direct relationship between age and power with no problems due to age. Mortal peril seems to trigger the evolutions easiest, but doing so recklessly or with negative emotions who defines that, anyway can lead to a berserk transformation, where the partner Digimon loses its mind and tries to kill everything around it, up to and including its partner.

[he lifts a hand and rubs at his face]
And you're saying we have to almost die in order to get these guys to evolve? Doesn't that seem counterproductive?
no subject
As for your soul, sorry, but I can confirm anything I've tried to do here with a spiritual component has failed, so either we're soulless or someone rewrote the fucking laws of physics. Or both.
no subject
Define "things with spiritual components." You're talking-- er. Spell casting and magic, right?
no subject
no subject
Yes.
And where I come from, alchemy's a fake science, so "attempting things with spiritual components" would fail there, too. Doesn't mean anything about the presence of lack thereof of souls-- if such a thing even exists.
It just means alchemy doesn't work.

Idiot, I'm saying that to point out a flaw in your logic, not insult you. I can believe that it's a perfectly valid discipline of study wherever you come from the same way I can believe this stupid red bunny actually exists.
Hey. . .
But just like this rabbit doesn't exist in my Tokyo, alchemy isn't compatible with what we know about science and the physical world back where I come from. Just because it doesn't work here doesn't mean everyone's missing a soul. It just means it's just not compatible with how this world is structured.

[He sighs and relaxes a bit]
How many people have you heard that from by now?

[This multiple world thing was going to take some getting used to]
