Just in Time for the Movies.

Characters: Everyone! (Only new arrivals are allowed in the Terminal Room)
When: Starting August 4th, 2013
Where: Terminal Room or all over town!
What: An open mingle log for everyone to play in!

Last month, there was no earthquake signalling new arrivals.

That's not a pattern; the ground quakes, the chutes in the Terminal Room activate, and Culumon trembles with excitement. There are so many lonely Digimon that had appeared recently and--finally-- their partners have arrived!

With Chosen disappearing every now and then, fresh faces will be very helpful.

OOC: Feel free to mark your characters in different locations! They can be just arriving in the Terminal Room you read about in the arrival post or anywhere on the map! Also feel free to mark the day for each thread. You can also request to play with Culumon, too! Have fun, guys!

[Sadly, the "awkward newcomer" took one look at the adorable hell muppet outside the room's door and immediately retreated back under the table. He didn't have any weapons. He couldn't even transform. There was no way to defend himself.]

[So he ran. Under a table. Better hiding place than nothing, some part of him had decided.]

[Which... left the poor hell muppet outside looking pretty despondent, and concerned. It stays out in the hallway though, since clearly it's upsetting the guy.]

The person in there.

[Wow, Hell Muppet, you sound creepy. And you're just. Kind of standing in the doorway like a creeper.]

[Impmon just flips out, rolling over with fright. Good god, that was a hell muppet.]

Give a warning next time! GAH!

[Ok, now that he's getting a good look at the weird digimon. He rolls his eyes.]

It's almost like he's scared or something.

[At least Leatherhead has more sympathy than his digimon.]

Is he alright?

[Hell Muppet -- no, that's not actually its name, but until Kagerou drags himself out of the room and takes responsibility, that's what we're calling it -- Hell Muppet tilts its head a little, and shrugs. Well. As best it can when its head is most of its body.]

I think he is.

[Excuse it while it peeks in again -- and there's a startled, almost squawking sound from inside. Kagerou clearly isn't taking these changes very well, and the overwhelming experiences just serve to push him further into a corner.]

[At least he isn't armed. It might have gotten dangerous, then.]

Just scared. I think.

[Impmon just scoffs at the digimon. Yeah good job at recognizing sarcasm.

Meanwhile Leatherhead just offers a small hand before he withdraws. He's been like this, he knows that it's better to leave someone be and let them crawl out at their own volition.

The big guy turns to Hell Muppet with a big sigh and a shrug.]

All we can do is wait. He will come out when he wants.

That's the problem.

[The Hell Muppet refrains from peeking back into the room again. But it still looks decidedly uneasy with the whole thing.]

[Kagerou has apparently decided this whole thing will pass if he presses himself against a wall, with his face buried in his arms. Which is super helpful.]

[Except not at all.]

I don't think he's coming out.

[Leatherhead is at a loss at what to do. He's no psychiatrist. Help???
Oh wait he's supposed to be the help FUCK.

The big guy tentatively opens the door, even as Impmon tugs at him.]

Come on Heather! Leave it be!

No I must see if he is alright...

[He just wanted to take one look, that's all. If he was hurt, he knew at least to get some actual help.]

[Yes, please. The Hell Muppet hasn't even met the guy, it doesn't know what to do.]

[It's going to peer in after him, though, worried and just as confused.]

[... Kagerou, thankfully, isn't damaged. He's not even bruised. He's overwhelmed and at a loss. His reactions in stressful situations are pretty much limited to fight-or-flight, and both of those are being denied him now.]

[So. He's shut down. Hunkered down. He barely looks up when he hears footsteps approach. Aside from the obvious eyepatch, he looks like any other human.]

[Well he looks okay. Does Kagerou really need help? Can Leatherhead really help him?

That's the thing about Leatherhead. His talents only seem to be fighting, not actually doing this helping kind of stuff.

He feels so embarrassed. How can he help someone traumatized when he's a mess himself. He sighs, hanging his head.]

...I am sorry. I shall leave you alone.

[He almost seems... startled, to hear the voice. His head jerks up, his one eye going wide. It's like he just now realized someone else was in the room.]

[And it's a human.]

[There's a moment in which he tries to scoot back further against the wall, shoulders hunching up like he's trying to spread his wings.]

Who are you?

[Well, it's the first he's spoken since he got here, anyway.]

[Oh no it's talking to him. Abort abort. Human lessons didn't come with a manual on how to be social.]

...Leatherhead.

[Outside Impmon gives encouragement.]

Way to lay on the charm.

[Ok uh...what now.]

...do you have a name?

[The voice from outside makes him whip his head around again, staring, and looking very much as if he'd like to disappear into the wall.]

Who... who is that?

[Is that more people? Does he have to talk to more people? But the question -- that's safe. He knows the answer to that.]

Kagerou.

[And his head drops again, his voice muffled into his arms.]

I don't understand. What's happening? Why am I... why am I like this?

[Way to screw things up, Impmon. Leatherhead looks to his digimon with a confused brow raise.

Ok, time to hash it out with this guy. He can't leave...can he? Oh well, at least he's talking.]

Impmon...he is my partner.

[He takes a seat across from Kagerou.]

I wish I knew what has happened to us. I did not start as...[Gestures to self.] this. But I think it has to do with keeping everyone safe.

Part... ner?

[He peeks up again, at that word. It's familiar. It's... it's like Shadowmaru. A little.]

[And at least it's easier to speak to someone when he doesn't have to stare up at them. Even though he's still staring.]

How is this safer? I don't... have anything. No scanners, no weapons. I can't fly anymore.

[To make things worse -- he's different now. Different than the reason he exists. Different than Shadowmaru. It hurts. It hurts and it's terrifying.]

[It's hard, he knows it. He knows that fear and hurt so well. Normally he reacted violently to that hurt and fear so...seeing Kagerou go through it is both familiar and strange.]

Not just yourself, but everyone.

I think that is why we were given digimon...partners...I think.

[He rubs at his head.]

I have a hard time understanding as well.

[He shakes his head, planting his face firmly back against his arms. If he doesn't have to see this, maybe it isn't real.]

I don't have a partner. They left me here. They just...

[He doesn't even know who "they" are. He probably doesn't even know how childish he sounds right now.]

[This is completely outside of his realm of experience. How does he even begin to handle this?]

... I want to go home. Please.

[No Kagerou, you don't sound childish right now. You sounds exactly how Leatherhead feels. If it weren't for the people around him, he'd be even more of a wreck.

This IS a lot for anyone to handle, let alone both of them.]

I guess that is why we were given a digimon...like the one outside.

[Leatherhead rubs at the back of his neck.]

There is no way to, not anyway I can tell.

The one... outside? Yours?

[That monster thing he saw? That thing was scary. He doesn't want to see it again.]

[His shoulders hunch, and the grip around his own arms tightens.]

But. There has to be.

No...the one who talked with you is mine.

[Leatherhead knows the feeling though. He did not like the digimon upon his first arrival.]

Maybe...if we fight this threat, it will let us go home.

Yours looks like a monster.

[... Kagerou apparently has yet to realize there's more than one creature in the hallway. Good job, birdbrain.]

[That gets his attention, though, and he peers up again, through his hair.]

... that's all we have to do? Fight? Then we'll... be ourselves again?

Hey! I'm adorable!

[This is gonna be a long sit in here.]

[At least he can help him there.]

[Don't worry, other Digi, Hell Muppet will give you a big smile. Yes, it agrees with you.]

[But back to the pity party.]

[Kagerou's shoulders tighten, and while he doesn't bury his face back into his arms, his gaze lowers.]

I... know how to fight. But not like... [His hands clench.] Not like this. Not like a human being.

[A glance up.]

... are you a police officer? Or military?

[Those are totally the only humans who fight, right?]

[No obviously the only ones who fight are kraang, him, and ninjas. Leatherhead is the second one. But still, it is the only way he can truly help.]

The digimon will help...I think.

No...I only know how to fight, that is all.

That thing? It looks like a monster.

[And somewhere, the poor Hell Muppet seems to deflate a little.]

You know how to fight without being police? Or military?

[That word monster still has it's sting, but he tries to remember Mikey's words.]

Maybe they are monsters...because everyone else treats them that way.
