It took a little work and more patience than Roze had on her own, but Neku finally manged to transfer some of Roze's ipod to her D-T and a more universal format. Music - thank God - books and movies. Even some of her music videos, which was a bigger relief than she had thought it would be.

Since there had been so much trouble and she'd barely managed to make up for her - in her mind - on the snow day, Roze decided to invite Team Dumbass over for movies and snacks.

Seifer refused. She texted Squall, Seifer and Neku, bouncing back and forth forever but in the end, Seifer blew her off. She had presents for Squall and Seifer both and had hoped to give them over before watching movies. Without Princess there she ended up sliding the box under her bed. He'd made it pretty clear he wanted nothing to do with any of them.

It bothered her, but she'd cope. She was used to disappointment.

So there she sat on the couch with Musashi, ignoring the occasional thuds and yelps or screeches against the outside apartment walls.

Mm, nope, not gonna even think about the crazy ass weather.

"Volcano High...really...I hope Squall doesn't just walk out on me, haha."

He couldn't help but crack a small smile when he sees neku lighten up so much. He shrugs his shoulders back a little and glances around the place.

" A little rabbit told me," he said softly as he bends down again to pull his boots off the rest of the way.

When he gets them off he sets them off to the side by the door and walks in a little more.

"Tch, Terri, huh? I swear to god all she'd do all day is gossip if I let her."

Neku followed, rolling his shoulder a little. The awkwardness wasn't as thick thanks to the gift at least. Better to just do this and get it over with while Roze was gone- something he was sure was on purpose.

"Er, hey... about what I sad during the mission..."

[innermonologues]

He holds up his hand and shakes his head as if to stop Neku.

"I over reacted and honestly I'm more pissed at myself. You were just the outlet or something."

He wondered if it would be alright to sit down or not. Roze invited him in, but she didn't exactly tell him he could sit down or anything. He shifted a little shoving his hands into his pockets once more.

"I'm not certain what all she told you, but I was immature."

"Yeah you were, a little. But I was still a dick. What I said wasn't really fair."

Neku didn't have Squall's issue. Maybe because he had already been in the apartment, sitting around and hanging out. He hopped on the couch, splaying a little.

"You were in a foul mood when I got there though- did something happen?"

[innermonologues]

"Seifer and I... we know how to press each other's buttons and press them hard. That and my head was still killing me from two days before that. Just little things like that."

He shrugs his shoulders again and watches him flop down on the couch. Neku's been here a few times, so of course it'd be okay for him to sit. He'll still stand here though. At least until someone orders him otherwise.

"Anyway... no apologies needed. I was being stupid."

It was about then that Roze decided to wander back around the corner, her hair up in neat coils on her head with one long braid down her back.

"You two lovebirds back in the honeymoon phase now?" she snorted, turning on her heel and flopping into the middle of the couch. Not to separate Neku and Squall, but because she enjoyed being between people instead of on the outside.

"So Shorty...you uh..." she arches a brow, wagging it in a conspiratorial manner and jutting her chin at him again and again in an exaggerated gesture.

"Yeah? Yeah? C'mon..."

Neku glared at her for the off handed teasing comment, but the last bit makes his eyes widen and he jumps up a little.

"Oh! Right!"

He leaned over the cough, squirming around until he pulled a shopping bag from the other side of the couch, holding it out for Squall."

"....here." Hold back your tsun there Phones.

[innermonologues]

Squall gave Roze a weird look with all of her weird gestures and when neku seemed embarrassed too he knew something was up. He tilted his head a little and grabbed the bag from Neku's hands. They... got him something? But why? He's been so insufferable lately.

" What... is this?"

[fullofthorns]

"Dude, just open it. Fuck's sake," she muttered, though she had a crooked smile and bashful expression.

Inside the bag was a new coat. It wasn't precisely the same as his older one - a bit more fashion friendly and easily accessorized with outfits that weren't just black leather. It was surprisingly form-fitting and well-sized for him, but then Roze had a good eye for those things.
The fur collar was particularly soft and not so large that it swallowed Squall's face, given any odd angle. The leather was buttery soft and had comfortable give while still being thick and resilient, and the zipper was heavy-duty, unlikely to tear under pressure.

Over all the jacket was as nice and close as they could get, under the circumstances.

For her part, Roze just looked away, finding a spot on the wall behind the couch of great interest. Regardless of the part she played, she let Neku have all the credit.

Hilariously, Neku unknowingly mimicked Roze's gesture, looking away. As if a spot out the window was the most exciting thing in the world.

"You know, since Terri kinda wreaked the old one."

[innermonologues]

Squall looked at the both of them looking so sheepish and slowly pulled the jacket out of the bag. He stared down at it with surprise in his eyes. It wasn't... exactly his but it still looked beautiful. The fact that it wasn't a size too small didn't even bother him. It was just... beautiful.

He slowly unzipped the front and slid his arms into it, getting the feel of the leather. It smelled so good. It felt... well he would have to break it in, but it was still comfortable. He slowly pulled it off again and folded it in his arms, holding it close.

"Thank you... Roze. Thank you Neku...," he looked like he wanted to say something else, but it felt like that was enough. He smiled down at the two of them. Probably the first time he's actually genuinely smiled in this place.

Looking back at Squall when he spoke, Roze's face turned a shade darker, green eyes darting away hurriedly.

"Yeah well. whatever, y'know? You looked stupid without a jacket," was her mumbled reply as she cleared her throat and gestured vaguely.

"You gonna stand there all night like a scarecrow?"

Once again, the two seemed to share similar reactions to Squall's smile, turning red and refusing to make real eye contact. Neku shoved more of the candies in his mouth as a distraction.

"It looks good."

[innermonologues]

"Ah... sorry. "

He nodded his head to Roze and giving them both that same grateful smile. He slowly makes his way over to the couch and sits on the other side of Roze. He leaves the jacket in his lap and scoots back into the couch a little. He wanted to tell them that they didn't have to do that, or they shouldn't have, but it felt like maybe that would cheapen the thought they put behind it so he kept his mouth shut on that matter.

Instead he reaches over for the bag and grabs out a bottle of water and sits back, uncapping it.

"Right uh...so...good times," the pink-haired woman coughed, casting a side-long look at both of them and leaning over to pick up her terminal, checking the cord while Musashi shuffled close and sat on the floor to lean against the couch and watch. He only had half interest in the affair and disliked Roze's time spent with others anyways.

"Alright so...here's hopin' the quality and all carries over. Man...Pretty Boy, don't judge me for this. Its not even my best movie..." she mumbled, trailing off as the FBI warning flickered onto the TV screen.

"Looks like your cord worked, Shorty."

"I knew it would. I use the same basic hook up for games." He dug into the snack bag, getting his coffee before squirming around a bit to get comfy.

"And hey, don't blame me for this. I told you not to make me pick."

[innermonologues]

Squall just gave them both a strange look before turning back to face the TV. He didn't really know what to expect with whatever these two picked. At least there would be fighting right? That's what Roze told him anyway.

"Huh..."

Several hours and two movies later, Roze leaned back into the couch, feets propped on the coffee-table among wrapped and empty drinks, arms stretched behind Neku and Squall.

"So! Shorty, Pretty Boy, whatcha think? You like this movie thing?" she asked, arching a brow at Musashi, who was asleep on the floor. "Think it could be a thing once in a while? I know all my movies didn't make it but I can probably find more in town once the weather stops bein' quite so batshit...And you know...anytime you guys wanna add to the pool, that'd be great."

"Yeah that'd be fine with me. I mean, there's not much to do around here."

He yawned, even with all the coffee in his system- movies always made him tired.

[innermonologues]

He shrugs his shoulders. He'd probably just go with it anyway, since Roze likes to push him into doing things. he shifts back into his seat a little more and glances at them. It was weird watching movies with someone again. The only one he had seen before was Seifer's favorite, and he always made them watch it constantly.

Roze wasn't about to make anyone watch the same shit over and over again. She liked variety - in most aspects of her life. Tilting her gaze down to Squall's new coat, the pink-haired girl smiled and huffed a soft laugh before glancing over at Neku and nudging him gently.

"You spendin' the night night, Shorty?" she asked, before leaning over and kissing his temple. "Thanks for fixing the movies up n'all. You're a lifesaver."

Neku flushed bright red. Which in turn made his hair even brighter looking.

"N-ngh no, I can make it home fine! I left Terri, after all..."

[innermonologues]

He snorted a little at Neku's reaction. It amused him a little when it was happening to someone else and not him. He couldn't use Neku's excuse though. Kudamon has been sleeping around his neck the whole time.

"You can take some of the snacks home for her and yourself if you leave. "

"Grown ups gotta talk anyways. Get your shit and get out," she rumbled, nudging him gently and ruffling his hair.

"I like it better when its down. You look less like an American college douchebag and more like someone I'd hook up with if I couldn't use his head for a tit-shelf. Though that's kinda convenient in itself," she snickered, narrowing her eyes at him.

"I'm gonna laugh when I hit my last growth spurt and am like, 6'5" or something." Neku huffed, though he was obviously kidding, snagging up some of the food as he headed out.

"Don't tear him up too much."
