Who: Everyone and anyone who wants to attend.
What: Training Party!
When: December 13th
Where: Public Training area... or what's left of it post-repairs. Characters do not have to know Takato and Guilmon to attend; they will have placed posters throughout the city over the past few weeks.
[It'd been several weeks in the making. Several weeks spent baking oodles of bread, getting in touch with other Chosen and Digimon, and of course helping with the repair efforts throughout this week. With dangers such as Titamon on the horizon, it seemed only right to set up a gathering for Chosen new and old to band together and practice their fighting skills.
In addition to the network announcements, Takato and Guilmon made sure to spread posters informing the populace of the event. Those who arrive on-site will find a table decked out with a wide variety of breads, with room for other snacks for those who wish to pitch in.
Arrivals will of course be greeted by an enthusiastic Guilmon and his Tamer, and while the primary focus is training, there's plenty of time to mingle, ask questions, and chow down!]

Kit and Emerick approach a little uncertainly, having missed the first part of the 'discussion' and thus not quite sure what's going on. Still, it's obvious her friends are upset, and Kit looks concerned.]
Duo? Sophia? What's going on?

Why, good day to you! I don't believe we've met before. I'm Solarmon. You must be a friend of Duo's. I'm not entirely sure how he's managed that, though, with as abrasive as he is.
[Duo doesn't move, though, even when Wily-Kit speaks up. He's quiet, his eyes focused on the ground in front of his feet. His whole body is shaking in silent rage. Between Sophia and Solarmon, he's nearly reached the end of his rope. He doesn't want to break down, not in front of any of these people. But it's so hard to keep himself in control when everything just seemed to attack him from all sides, rubbing him in all the wrong ways.]

You know him? He was mean about Com'mon. Com'mon's gun's to protect me. He's supposed to protect me, he can't throw it away!
[...And then she looks at Solarmon.] And he may be a meanie, but you're being not-nice either!

Um, kinda? We've talked over the D-terminals some.
[Which effectively addresses both Solarmon and Sophia, but it's clear where her attention is needed more, and she glances at Solarmon.]

[She turns back to Sophia and nods.]
You're right. And he shouldn't have been mean to Com'mon. But, well... back where Duo's from, it's mostly the bad guys who have guns, and a lot of his friends got hurt or killed 'cause of them. So when he saw Com'mon had one, he didn't know that he wasn't a bad guy too, and was probly trying to protect you himself. Even if he did pick a bad way of trying to do it.
[Kit turns to Duo now, reaching out to rest a hopefully supportive hand on his shoulder and talking to him.]
Duo? I understand why you're mad. Lion-O felt the same way about technology for awhile after the Lizards destroyed Thundara with it. Cause how could it be a good thing when so many people had been hurt by it and when Mumm-Ra was gonna keep using it to hurt more people? But technology isn't good or bad. How people use it is.
Same's true about guns. They're just things. Things can't be good or bad by themselves; it all depends on how people use them. And Com'mon's a good guy. He won't use his to hurt people like those guys back where you're from did. He wouldn't hurt us any more than Emerick or Solarmon would, cause that's not how he is. Understand?

[Kit sounds a lot older than a lot of kids she's met...but she reminds Sophia of Carl, or one of the adults. Slowly, her anger doesn't really disappear, but it melts, and she's standing there pouting and then just frowning.
She gives the ground a little stomp.]
Yeah, 'kay. [She's quiet when she speaks.

Still, listening to Wily-Kit, he can't really believe what he was hearing. There's no way a child could endure so much. Right? Or it could just be a lie that Duo's told to make people pity him and Wily-Kit's fallen for it. That's more believable than a child going through all that suffering.
Duo though...he's still quiet. He's still shaking. His hands are still clenched into tight fists at his sides. It's all still too fresh in his mind. He can still smell the smoke, still see the smoldering remains of the Church. He can still hear the rebels arguing, the slap of a hand to Sister Helen's face. They were suppose to be the good guys fighting against the Alliance, but they were just as bad.
No, it's not just the people. Duo's sure of it.]
We didn't have guns and we were happy...
[His voice is low, shaking ever so slightly.]
Then people you'd call the good guys came to the Church. They ruined our happiness. They hurt Sister and Father. [He shakes his head slightly.] They were suppose to fight the Alliance and let us have peace, but all they did was make it worse. The good guys made it worse. They didn't want to protect us.

Kit shook her head as well.]
If they did stuff like that, then they weren't really good guys. They might've said they were, and maybe they even thought they were, but they weren't. Back home... Back home, us cats were like that for a long time. Not me or my friends, I mean, but just... cats all together, you know?
[She makes a broad gesture with her free hand indicating that she means the cats as a group, rather than any particular individuals.]
We thought that because cats were stronger, that meant that we were better than all the other animals and that what we wanted was the right thing for everybody. That it was our job to make all the other animal tribes do what we wanted, and that that was the only way that things would be peaceful. All our stories told us that we were the good guys, the heroes that freed everybody from Mumm-Ra and kept the animals from just fighting each other all the time.
But... the cats were really just a big bunch of bullies. That's part of why the Lizards destroyed Thundara; yeah, Mumm-Ra gave them weapons and stuff, but we'd been really mean to them for a long time, so it's no wonder they hated us.
But Lion-O and the rest of my friends back home are really good guys. Some them have guns; Tygra has a little one that he took off of one of the lizards, and Panthro has the Thundertank and that has all kinds of weapons. But they only use them to protect people.
Like at the Berbil village. The Berbils are really nice, and they're really good at building things, but they can't really fight. So this jerk called Conquedor kept attacking them with this big machine and taking Berbils to sell as slaves, and they couldn't do anything. He showed up again while we were there. He surprised us the first time, so we didn't do too well. He took a bunch of Berbils, along with our friend Rober Bill's family, and Rober Bill got hurt really bad trying to save them. But Panthro fixed him up, then Bill, Lion-O, Tygra, and Cheetara all went and rescued the Berbils that Conquedor took.
But that made him mad, so he was gonna come back again, and bring a bunch of his friends this time. But we figured out how the Berbils could rig up the village with booby traps to protect themselves. That helped, but we really only won when Panthro used the Thundertank's weapons to wreck Conquedor's machine. Then Lion-O took the Sword of Omens and smashed his regular weapon too, til he ran off like a scaredy-snarf, just to make sure he'd leave the Berbils alone. And with the booby traps still there, the village would be safe from anybody else trying things like that.
Conquedor had guns, yeah. But so did we. Difference is, we used them to keep him from bullying folks around, and to protect them. Cause that's what good guys do. They protect people who can't protect themselves, they don't hurt them. And if anybody says they're a good guy, then goes around hurting or bullying people just because they can, then they're a liar, even if they don't know it.
[Kit gets a little quieter, but there's still conviction in her voice. It's clear she firmly believes what she's saying.]
Lion-O wants to show that to everybody. He wants to show everybody that just being stronger, or having better weapons, doesn't make you right. And it doesn't mean you can hurt people just to get your way. Because if you're nice to people, and help them and protect them, then you won't have to make them do stuff; they'll just do it cause they want to, and cause you're their friend. That's why he's a good king, and a good guy, and so are the other Thundercats I'm friends with, whether they use guns or not. Cause they all believe that too. And so do I.
[Kit ends her speech with a firm nod, as if to say 'that's that'.]

The sentiment, however, she thinks she gets. Even if the words don't always connect, the expressions or phrases. It's one that...
...well. Even if she fully believes it, she won't say. She doesn't quite believe all of it...because that's not how it works sometimes. Sometimes, the good nice people who protect others, they die. They get killed. They get smashed with a baseball bat in front of the people who really love them.
That's just how it is.
But she doesn't want to fight, not anymore. She's tired and she's grumpy, and she's thinking a lot about home again. Home in Alexandria, where she at least had people she cared about and her daddy was still alive.
So she stays very quiet, and she taps her foot into the dirt, and Commandramon is still, at her side.]

But he's done fighting. He's tired now, having spent all his energy being angry and frustrated and just yelling. They wouldn't understand. How could they? They didn't know anything!
His hands loosen from the fists they are in before he turns on his heel and takes off at a run, leaving Solarmon behind. He doesn't care where he goes, just so long as it's away from here.]

Contrary to Duo's thoughts, Kit understood more than he would've expected. One of the things she understand was that guns and other weapons were designed to hurt and kill. That was their purpose. But unlike Duo, she'd seen them used for good as well as bad. Real good, not pretend good, like the ones who'd hurt Duo's friends.
She wasn't sure if Duo could come to understand what she'd told him or not. Maybe he would, when he was ready. Aburn would've said to let it come to him in its own time, which was probably good ad vice. Still, he was going to have to lean not to yell at everybody who had weapons. Lots of Digimon wound up with them on them when they Digivolved, and not all of them would be as friendly as Comm'Mon.
Kit took a deep breath and let it out before turning around to face Sophia and everyone again.]
Sorry. That... didn't turn out quite as good as I hoped. I guess there's really more differences between our worlds than we realize sometimes...
Let's just... go get a little of that bread hmm? Food always makes things a little better.
