Who: Everyone and anyone who wants to attend.
What: Training Party!
When: December 13th
Where: Public Training area... or what's left of it post-repairs. Characters do not have to know Takato and Guilmon to attend; they will have placed posters throughout the city over the past few weeks.

[It'd been several weeks in the making. Several weeks spent baking oodles of bread, getting in touch with other Chosen and Digimon, and of course helping with the repair efforts throughout this week. With dangers such as Titamon on the horizon, it seemed only right to set up a gathering for Chosen new and old to band together and practice their fighting skills.

In addition to the network announcements, Takato and Guilmon made sure to spread posters informing the populace of the event. Those who arrive on-site will find a table decked out with a wide variety of breads, with room for other snacks for those who wish to pitch in.

Arrivals will of course be greeted by an enthusiastic Guilmon and his Tamer, and while the primary focus is training, there's plenty of time to mingle, ask questions, and chow down!]

[ooc: This is an open log. Characters do not have to train with Guilmon and Takato-- they're welcome to face each other as well as mingle, eat food, share stories, and party hard. I have a few optional sub-threads linked, but these are not a requirement by any means.]

[The attack pushes Leomon back, back, back, and he struggles to stay on his feet, in the end, he has to drop to all fours, to dig in his front claws and keep himself from completely losing composure.

He fights back similarly, holding up one hand.]

Shockwave!

[A blast of energy rips from his hand toward Aquilamon.

Gah!

[ Aquilamon staggers back when that force of energy hits him, not dropping back or anything like that, but it wasn't like he had a chance at all at escaping the blast either.

He does manage to stabilize himself without too much trouble, and he lets out a bit of a chuckle before leaping into the sky, intending on landing behind Leomon so that he can spin around and attack from behind. ]

[He's in the sky. Perfect.]

Fist of the Beast King!

[ If he had been Garudamon instead of Aquilamon right now, that attack wouldn't have been anything to worry about. Even discounting his greater strength, he would've been able to land without being hit by it.

But as he was Aquilamon right now, well... the attack hit him, and he found himself dropping to the ground instead of landing on his feet, struggling to get up from the force of the attack. ]

[Not waiting another moment, Leomon advances, with his sword drawn, and stands at the ready...to attack, or to stand down, if Aquilamon is done.

This is not a battle to the death, after all. It's a spar, between equals.]

[ Aquilamon wasn't done yet, turning around quickly and opening up his mouth again, a huge gust of wind blasting out from it as he looked over at Leomon.

But even then, Aquilamon didn't waste that much time, charging forward towards the other digimon again while he was hopefully knocked off guard by the force of the wind from his mouth.

Chika watched all of this with a frown on her face, noticing that Aquilamon wasn't doing so well. Sure, Garudamon was a lot stronger, but Leomon was at the same level that he was. It didn't make sense for him to be having this much trouble... ]

[As the wind erupts, Leomon slices his sword down, trying not to cut through it, but to lessen the blow. It means he can stay righted, and that's all he needs. He drops his sword, and as Aquilamon charges, he draws back his fist.]

Fist of the Beast King!

[ Aquilamon didn't have much of a chance to dodge that attack, not with it coming at him while he was charging towards Leomon. His eyes narrow, and his mouth opens. ]

Blast Laser!

[ Rings shoot out of his mouth towards the attack, intending to hit it head on and make it easier for him to actually get to Leomon. ]

[The blasts collide, exploding at each other. Leomon appears to have the same idea as Aquilamon, as he uses the moment to charge forward and try a kick now.]

[ This whole thing would've been so much easier if Aquilamon had arms and stuff to fight with. So while Leomon is going to kick at him, Aquilamon can't do much more than swing his horns down towards the smaller champion and see what happens.

He should hopefully have more reach though, since he was bigger. Right? Though if he doesn't manage to knock Leomon away there's no way that he's going to be able to block that kick. ]

[Leomon is resilient, steals himself. The kick collides with Aquilamon's horns, and Leomon grunts, but with a tiny confident smile. He's still got plenty of energy.]

[ Well, damn. He was hoping to knock the other digimon away a bit. Oh well, there wasn't much he could do about it now but try to press forward. A ranged attack at this range would... not end well for either of them, really.

Aquilamon does let out a grunt though, because pushing Leomon back is something that's surprisingly difficult for him to do. ]

[He's not in any position to land on the ground right now, but Leomon pushes off Aquilamon's horns, backflipping through the air and throwing a shockwave from his palm. Part if it is directed toward the other Digimon, while the other part is directed at the ground. It's to give him some air, some leverage, so he can land properly.

[ Aquilamon manages to stabilize himself a bit, even with that attack coming towards him, but he can tell that's it's getting more and more difficult to maintain his form right now. He's not sure if he's wiped out from earlier training or what, but it's taking him quite a bit more to move than he would've expected.

He really only has one major chance left, and sends out another blast of his Blast Rings attack towards the other Champion. ]

[And, with the majority of his remaining strength - except for keeping his form - Leomon sends his main attack as well a Fist of the Beast King.

The two collide, and Leomon stands, breathing heavily...and sheathing his sword.]

I think...that's about enough, isn't it?

[ Aquilamon pants, breathing it rather hard as he looks over at Leomon for a moment... and almost stumbles forward, glowing before changing back to Biyomon. ]

Yeah. I'm completely spent now.

[lionhearted_destiny]

[Leomon breathes deep and drops to one knee in rest, though he remains composed.]

You did very well, my friend. We both did, an excellent sparring round.

Yeah, it was a really good match.

[ Even if it showed that he really, really needed to train more as Aquilamon. ]

[Juri comes running over and gives Leomon's leg a hug.] Great job, Leomon! Great job, you should rest the rest of the day!

[He bows his head slightly, charmed by his Tamer.]

[ Oh hey, Chika's going to tackle torpedo herself at Biyomon, hugging him really tightly. ]

You did really good too Biyomon! And like Leomon you really need to get a lot of rest too!

[ Biyomon nods a bit, letting a soft chuckle. ]

Okay. But you're holding onto me really tight...

Oh, oops!

[ She's going to pull away at that, her cheeks going bright red as she tries to not be completely embarrassed like she was right now. ]

[Juri giggles, smiling widely.] You both were amazing.

If you don't mind, Biyomon, I'd like to spar again sometime. I haven't fought an Aquilamon in a long time.

I'd like that a lot Leomon. After all, we really need to try to get a match that doesn't end up as a draw.

[ He's grinning when he says that though, so he's not too serious about that part. ]
