[Open] A Very Kratt-y Birthday

Who: Anyone and everyone!
What: Celebrating Martin Kratt's birthday!
When: Dec. 23
Where: The Meeting Hall

The night before had been spent getting the decorations up for the party, with Chris and Fluttershy and anyone else who had offered to help while Martin had been sleeping, in order to keep the whole party a surprise for him.

Fluttershy could only hope that all her experiences with Pinkie Pie's parties would help her make sure this one was successful. After all Chris and Martin had done for her recently, helping make Martin's birthday a special one was the least she could do.

((OOC: There are certain places where people can meet, but feel free to post additional threads for mingling! It's a party after all, so have fun!))

Ha, are you kidding? And miss out on this? I'm fine!

(Ooh, fast song! Rainbow gives it a moment's thought then shrugs and grabs Twilight's hand, pulling her onto the dance floor.) C'mon, Twi; let's show these guys how we do it Ponyville style!

Well... alright, dancing it is! [She lets Rainbow Dash pull her to the dance floor] But if you feel really tired, tell me. I don't want you to push yourself too hard, okay?

Pfft, relax! I'll be fine...but if I conk out try to catch me so I don't look like I had too much cider or whatever they serve here.

(Maybe it was timing or sudden choices or suggested by someone else, but when they got to the dance floor the fast song suddenly came to an end...and a slow song started.)

[She stopped when the slow music started. Well... this felt kinf od awkward now.]

(Rainbow stopped too, eyed Twilight with a slightly nervous look and cleared her throat while glancing away. Definitely awkward moment.)

...Hehe, still wanna dance Princess?

(Her tone was teasing since she knew Twilight didn't want to be referred to by title, but how else to ease the tension? She would've just sped off the dance floor otherwise!)

[Since she recognized the teasing tone, she wouldn't insist on not being called that. Still...]

Well... I guess so. We're already here, so we might as well.

[Besides, what was the worst that could happen?]

(Rainbow nodded, stepped forward and after a moment's hesitation, wrapped her arms around Twilight's waist. Her wings were folded back, but she felt like stretching them out a while just to ease her own nerves.)

...So, haven't seen Kudamon yet. Did you leave her back at the apartment? Speedy was too tired after one flying session so I took her back before getting in a few more trips.

(Honestly? Rainbow took a 1/2 flight afterward before heading to the Hall.)

[Twilight was feeling nervous, she had never really slow-danced before. Still, she folded her own wings back and placed a hand on Rainbow's shoulder.]

Yeah, she stayed back. I asked her if she wanted to come, but she said that she wasn't a fan of parties or big crowds. So I let her stay behind.

(Rainbow nodded, and not wanting to show her nervousness anymore than she already had, gave Twilight her usual smirk.)

Yeah, that's cool. You heard that Trixie came too, right? It's not just us and Rarity? She says she wants to help, but I don't think she realizes the whole 'gotta know your partner' thing.

(Distraction, take their minds off their dancing no matter how cool she made it look.)

[Distractions were god. Twilight needed one right now.]

Yeah, I saw... she didn't know that I was turned into an Alicorn and she isn't happy about not having her horn. But we need to give her time, she's still learning to get over her pride. Hopefully she'll learn...

[That's what she hoped, at least.]

(Rainbow wanted to believe in Twilight, but even so...she had her doubts.)

Yeah...that's what you said last time, and then she exiled you from Ponyville after making my wing bigger than my head! Still, she looks alright as a human.

...She's not the only pony who looks awesome as a human...

(She meant herself, right?)

I know, and I think you look awesome like you think you do. I think we all look pretty nice. And... I know what Trixie did, but she was being corrupted by the Alicorn Amulet. Before she left, she actually apologized to me for what she did. She still has a big ego, but maybe being here and having to work with someone will get her to change. All we can do is wait and see.

[Because despite everything that had happened, Twilight knew that Trixie wasn't a bad pony. Hopefully she could change.]

...Yeah, okay! I'll trust you on this, 'cause she did say she wanted to help so anypony who says that can't be all bad. And, I know I look awesome as a human but I meant you look just as awesome.

(She's grown a bit; Rainbow didn't put herself first for a change!)

[She looked to the side with a slight blush on her face. She could be as bad as Fluttershy when ti came to accepting a compliment]

Thanks Rainbow Dash. I miss my pony body body though... but at least I got adjusted to being human. Not tripping and smashing my face into a wall anymore is nice.

Hehe, yeah...not hearing my hooves whenever I start to take off is weird, but not crashing every 10 minutes is cool.

(Rainbow had a faint blush on her face too, not because she still crashed into trees and/or branches that popped out of nowhere, but because she found herself looking at Twilight at that moment.)

Well at least you were able to keep your wings. [Sighs] But I lost my magic...

[Compared to in the past, so far Twilight was doing fine without her magical abilities, Still, she felt uneasy without them. It just... didn't feel right.]

(Rainbow's hand came up to turn Twilight's head back around and stare at her with a determined look.)

....It'll always be a part of you, Twi! So you can't use it while you're here, but that doesn't mean it's not inside. Just like my wings, your wings and horn...as long as we've got this we'll always have what makes us special.

(Her hand moved down to Twilight's chest, just above her heart. She grinned faintly after a moment.)

Plus, we still have our cutie marks...!

[She looked down at the hand on her heart and then back up at her friend. She smiled gently, as always her friends were able to make her feel better. She wrapped her arms around Rainbow Dash gently but firmly, giving her a hug.]

Thanks Rainbow Dash, I needed to hear that.

(Rainbow's wings moved ever so briefly as she was hugged, but relaxed and hugged Twilight back a moment later.)

Anytime, Twilight! I know you'd do the same for me...

(The slow song was about halfway over, so still in mid-hug Rainbow dipped Twilight back while holding her close, not even letting go as her faint grin became a smirk once more.)

[Before Twilight could reply to that, she felt herself get dipped. She let out a tiny gasp, she hadn't seen that coming. She also felt her cheeks redden even more. Still, she kept her arms wrapped firmly around Rainbow to stay close and she shot her a bashful smile]

Twi...

(Yeah, she hadn't expected to feel blown away by that smile of hers. She felt her cheeks heat up as her smirk softened into a more relaxed smile, pulling Twiight up slowly while remaining in place.)

[As she was lifted, Twilight found it almost impossible to stop herself form looking into Rainbow's eyes. She didn't understand why her cheeks were burning or why her heart was beating so fast or why she didn;t want to let go of her friend. Surprise, maybe? She didn't know...]

Well, umm... th-that was fun.

(The song was starting to come to an end, but Rainbow didn't care. She didn't seem to care about anything but focusing on Twilight's eyes and how well they sparkled -pun not intended- as they danced. She should've asked herself why she hadn't pulled her friend up super fast, why her heart was beating almost as fast as her wings, why she wanted to spread her wings out for everypony or everyone to see...!)

...Just 'fun?' Try spectacularly, stupendously, amazingly awesome time with the coolest pony I know...! Next to me.

(Despite the last bit that she had to get in, everything else Rainbow had said was, as Applejack once put it, the honest truth.)

[And all of that only makes Twilight blush more, but this time she was pretty sure it was due to bashfulness.]

W-well... I don;t know if I;m all that, but thank you. I... I liked dancing with you.... maybe we can... do it again sometime... i-if that's okay and all.

[She somehow forces herself to avert her gaze, looking to the side with a bashful smile still on her face.]

...Y-yeah! I totally wouldn't mind dancing with you again, even if it wasn't at another party...you know, just a regular get-together at your place or mine...

(Rainbow still hadn't quite pulled Twilight up, but when she suddenly did so she made sure to stop just in time for their faces to be practically inches away from each other. If the former Alicorn wasn't facing away from her.

Part of her was very tempted to do this on another part of her face, but Rainbow leaned in and kissed Twilight's flushed cheek and held it for some time before pulling back. The former Pegasus wasn't known for her patience, just her occasional over-enthusiasm about things.)

Do you realize if I list all the awesome things you've done since we became best friends with each other and the rest, that'd make your head as big as my wings?
