New Arrivals Digicards On Mario Karts!
Characters: Everyone! (Only new arrivals are allowed in the Terminal Room)
When: 3 JUNE 2013
Where: Terminal Room or all over town!
What: An open mingle log for everyone to play in!
Last month had been relatively calm, with only a new Dark Area being found.
But once again, that calm was disrupted. For the third consecutive time, an earthquake tore through the Digital World. One on the scale of the one that had brought so many of the current Chosen to the Digtal World. Once again, dozens of Chosen were making their way to the Digital World. Destiny was calling once more and so were their partners. Mayhaps even some of the Choosen that have been here for a while, have predicted this to happen, today.
Every chute in the Terminal Room activated while the small Digimon known as Culumon trembled with excitement. There were so many lonely Digimon that had appeared recently and--finally-- their partners had arrived!
OOC: Feel free to mark your characters in different locations! They can be just arriving in the Terminal Room you read about in the arrival post or anywhere on the map! Also feel free to mark the day for each thread. You can also request to play with Culumon, too! Have fun, guys!

It's fine.
[Because everybody should be able to duel. Despite his sour face, he's really passionate about his dueling.]
Oh oh, we should introduce ourselves first! I'm Gotsumon. He's Ryoga Kamishiro, but you can call him Shark if you want.
no subject
Ed. It's nice to meet you both! I hope we end up being really good friends.
A-and after I've learned, I'd totally be fine with playing sometime. Not that I'd be very good yet... haha.
no subject
Nobody is the best when they first start.
[Let's start the lesson! First, the basics. Shark shows everyone at the table his cards: the monsters, the magic, and the traps.
...there's a very noticeable shark theme going on here.]
no subject
[Ed seems to follow along with the rules easily enough, even if Guilmon has already fallen asleep before we've even gotten to 'trap card.'] ...So you're called Shark because of the type of deck you use?
That's pretty cool!
no subject
Hey! Guilmon! Wake up!
Everyone finds a type of deck they like. It's like a reflection of your personality.
[As he spreads his cards out on the table, he can't help but realize how incredibly different it is from how he's used to dueling. No duel disks, no d-gazers, no holograms. This is how people used to play the game, a long, long time ago.]
That's why they say you can learn about a person through dueling them.
no subject
Oh! Magic back home is a little bit like that. [His for instance was so versatile in part because of how quickly he accepted new ideas and people.] Man, now I want to see if I can find some of these. It seems a way better way to settle things instead of fighting.
no subject
[Even people who don't duel regularly know how to play and probably even have their own decks.]
You wanted to learn, right? So stay awake!
no subject
Hmm... Well, if I tried to do it back home I'm pretty sure someone would try flinging a fireball at my head at some point. But still, that sounds a lot less... violent.
no subject
[HA HA OH ED. IF ONLY.]
You'd be wrong.
no subject
[That seems to surprise Ed, who quirks an eyebrow.] Really? Wh-what kind of danger? Do people seriously throw fireballs around?
no subject
[Ouch, this is him wincing a bit at fireballs. Bad memories. Really bad memories.]
Where I come from, duels are conducted with augmented reality systems. People expect to get at least blown off their feet. There are also people and beings with powers that make it more dangerous.
no subject
...that sounds dangerous. You must be a really good athlete if you're a duelist in your world! Y-you haven't run into any trouble before, have you?
no subject
[It's not completely necessary to be a good athlete - you just need to have a strong will. The ability to get up after being knocked down is a sign of a duelist. You should see him scale fences though, he's awesome at that.]
Some.
[A lot.]
no subject
Well... that's not good. A-at least you made it out alright! And when you get back home, I hope you continue to make it out alri- [INTERRUPTING GUILMON has just leaned between the two humans.]
Hey, why are there so many colors of monsters?
no subject
There's different types of monsters. Yellow ones are normal monsters. Orange ones are called effect monsters that do what's written on the card. Blue, white, purple, and black ones are monsters you can only play after you meet certain conditions. A lot of them have effects too.
no subject
What kind of conditions? Is there a dance or a special thing you say?
no subject
It's so complicated...
[Does he really expect Gotsumon to learn this and get good at it?
...Yes.]
no subject
Ed, though, seems to have had his interest piqued...]
Wait, so you mean Ritual monsters are created by using a spell card to create a magic ritual that calls them forth... and you have to prepare for it by pulling the parts from your deck? [His mahotaku-ness has kicked in.] That is so cool! And then they can tune themselves with other monsters to create Synchros, Fusions, and XYZ monsters on top of that? So it's a game about magic and friendship and cooperation! Oh man... I really want to play now..!
no subject
If there's any place we can get our hands on some cards we can.
[Because you can't play with just one deck. :c]
no subject
Oh man, where are we even going to get cards in a place like this?! Th-this is so unfair! It's like the game's right there, waiting for us to play it...
...We need to search the town and see if any of the stores carry these cards! You never know, it could be!
no subject
Every store!?
Every store.
[That means he agrees.]
no subject
Wha..? Okay...
[Shop searching montage?]
no subject
I didn't expect a place to actually have them.
no subject
So it's... forty to sixty cards in a deck, and fifteen in the extra deck, right? And I have to think about how they'll work together.
no subject
Start with something basic until you find something you like.
