The Trailmon to File Island left hours ago. Twenty-one people were aboard and split their separate ways at a terminal close to the Village. Some went to protect the young Digimon while most of the others had a mission at hand: rescuing the brave--or perhaps foolish-- Taichi Yagami.

No Digimon seems to be around as group approaches the field. It as Taichi said, too, full of bright colors and random numbers. The size isn't great, so one must wonder how a boy got lost in there. Or perhaps you're unable to think on that when you realize how still everything is.

No wind seems to pass and no sound can be heard.

Whatever's going on, it can't be normal for the Digital World either, can it?


[[OOC: So here's how this will work! We will give you guys a few rounds to get set up. This is so that you can get in your groups. During this time the Divers will also be roped up and sent on their way. For this we're going to need you guys to be a little speedy at first. Ideally, we will be putting up the Diving/Battling threads at NO LATER THAN 8:30 A.M. CST Thursday. They may go up earlier if we feel everyone is situated!

Several threads will go up then-- one for the Divers for which we will be putting our focus on (Divers, if you want to get started early since you don't have much coordinating to do let us know!).

The Digimon you will be fighting will also make their appearance! Please note it will take several hours after the Divers take their leave that the Digimon will appear. We will introduce these Digimon and explain the mechanics of their behavior, but wil not be playing them unless requested/necessary.

The Divers should all be pulled out by midnight on the 26th.

Kaldur stared up at the anomaly. He wasn't sure what he had expected but somehow it still did not compare to this. There was something ominous about the silence surrounding the field, especially when one considered the Beemon swarm they had left behind. Kaldur nodded and turned back to the group that had elected to go in search of Taichi. There was time to contemplate these events after they were through living them. Now, their priority was to go into the field and see what was what.

"So does everyone remember the plan we discussed?"

"Yeah, yeah. We send some of you guys in and the rest stand out here to make sure what happened to the first guy doesn't also happen to everyone in the groups. Also keep an eye out for any attacks."

Kaldur sighed. Thank you for undermining that Gizamon. "Exactly."

Washington nodded, fidgeting a bit. But he's trying to stay calm. This is just like working with the freelancers back home. "I remember. Don't worry."

Coronamon is watching Washington worriedly. He didn't think he was up to all of this.

Part of Hibiki is still wondering why she's here at all. Her recent fight with her partner has her a bit reluctant to do any fighting, but the rest of her is ready to help everyone else find a way home and get some more information. The usually energetic idol is spacing out just a little, but Psychemon is urging her forward. She can't help but feel a little out of place...it feels like everyone else has done something like this before, but she's only ever played a soldier in a movie.

Oh, well. At least she knows how to act tough.

"Mm! Just leave it to us! Psychetaro and I aren't gonna let anything happen."

"Easier said than done, Kal. Everything about this is strange, remember?"

['Breathe in. Breathe out. Let the land flow through you. Let the earth speak to you.' Ed never figured out what that meant, but it was supposed to be calming so he repeated it over and over again to himself as he tied a rope around his waist.

He needed all the calming he could get. Things were going to be fine, but he was still nervous about what might happen. Still, he couldn't let on. Everyone was relying on them to be brave, right?

Right. He put on his biggest smile and turned his head to Guilmon.]

Guilmon. Come here, I have to get you, too.

Okay... [The normally boisterous digimon seemed scared, but didn't fight as Ed started tying it to a rope as well.]

[Hiccup watched Ed and Guilmon out of the corner of his eye as he carefully fastened a rope around his partner. He stands there for a long moment in thought, wringing the end of his own rope in his hands a bit before starting to tie it around himself.

He can't help but feel relieved that he and Gomamon were able to work out their differences before everything boiled to a head. Of course their moment of peace was short lived, but at least they had the chance to have it. ..Now, really, they didn't have much to lose....other than each other.

With a deep sigh after he gets his rope secure, Hiccup carefully lifts Gomamon off his shoulders and kneels to the ground, setting the digimon down in front of him.

As he begins to tie a rope around him, he can feel Gomamon trembling slightly. It's hard to tell if it's from anticipation, or fear.
Both, most likely.]

Hey. ...remember what I said?

[He offers Gomamon a weak smile before touching a finger to his makeshift collar.]

We're in this together. No matter what.

...No matter what. Right.

[Elec Man frowned deeply as he finished tying up his partner. He did not like that humans were joining him and Flamemon into the Darkness Field. And it wasn't just that he wanted to show off his brillance. It was a part of it...but it wasn't the major reason.

It was the first law that was imprinted in him. "A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm." It was natural that he volunteer to go after Taiki. He was the best after all. But in a sense he was defying the First Law of Robotics, by allowing Ed and Hiccup join in.

And it irked him. He stared at them and then Flamemon.]

Do me a favor and make sure you are careful. We do not need to waste our glorious and precious time searching for more children. [He said it to Flamemon, but it was loud enough for the other four divers to hear.

Solemnly he began to secure himself to his own rope.]

[Donnie look at the naomoly. He wasn't scared of it, he was more intrigued than anything. The numbers he recognized as digital coding, made sense since this was a Digital World. He wanted to get a close look, but he had been assigned to protect the three going in.

Two of them were his friends, so he'd do whatever he had to in order to protect them.]

That things looks... Kind of scary...

What? Your not scared, are you Kamemon? We're not even going in it, we're just supposed to protect the ropes holding the ones going into it.

Good, I don't want to be anywhere near that thing. It's giving me the creeps!

[So this place really was a Digital plane of existence.

Not that Lightning knows much about programming. She's only had to deal with little day-to-day electronics and intel related to missions. But even with her limited knowledge it didn't take a genius to realize that something's really wrong.

And the fact that this place is so empty doesn't bode well. Lightning's stopping quite a ways away with Lopmon on her shoulder, not intending to get any closer to the anomaly. A place this deserted is a great place for an ambush while on a rescue mission.

This is dangerous. Foolish even. She's fine with protecting the divers while they do their job, but if something attacked, something bigger and stronger than them, they'll need an exit strategy and fast.]

This place feels really off. [Keeping her ears up to the sky for any quiet and faint, suspicious sounds, Lopmon's pouting at their situation. But for once since Lightning's known her, she's actually sounding serious.]

That makes two of us. [A whisper to her partner. Her right hand is hovering near the handle of her gunblade. She'd draw it out and have it prepared, but given that there's teenagers around and people on edge, it would send out a bad and hasty message.

To anyone around her;] Be alert and on your toes. Don't forget that anything can happen out here, including ambushes.

[Terra's not sure what to make of the field. She's been wondering, thinking, trying to figure out what's going on and just why she'd volunteered to go do this for the last few hours-- heck, since the night before.

But she's here now, and people's lives are at stake. She's sort of grateful that Rise's on the "team" she's been divided into; someone she's at least talked to. Focusing on the here-and-now, she tries to bury her nerves.]

Yeah, yeah, here we go, ready. Ready...! Big heroes, we can do it, we can do it... [He's been murmuring to himself like this for the last few minutes.

Terra puts a hand on his head now and he calms, a little bit.] Got ya. Staying...alert.

[Oh man. Heroes. Really? He certainly isn't acting like Snow, but hearing that word always reminds Lightning of him.

She turns to them, arms crossed over her chest. A bunch of kids on her 'team' although Terra looks fairly prepared. Still, that just means that she has to keep an eye on them if there is any fighting.]

Don't focus on the heroism. Just focus on the fight and survival if anything hostile shows up. Don't lose sight of your-- our goal, but don't bury yourself in worries, or you'll mess up.

GROUP A

[The sound resonates across the area as the Digital Zone practically explodes. Everything that was sucked in comes out all at once and along with it four figures.

The Devimon are not easily noticeable for what the are. Their data is cracked and broken. Each Devimon looks and moves worse than the last, but there is a noticeable factor-- they're far larger and more muscled than any normal Devimon out there.]

[When the Devimon turns its attention to those in Group A the sound is primal as it stretches out its hand. There's no word of warning when the energy blasts towards the small group.]

You want some of this, huh, punk?! [Despite the bravado though, Kanji is nervous and maybe a bit scared-- this thing looks horribly like something in his recent past. Less arms and size, sure, but that doesn't take away from the memory of that one battle. They'd won, but he still gets nightmares at the oddest times.

He knows he cant back down from this one though, and he dodges one blast to take a swing at it--

[As Donnie ran forward to help Kanji with Kamemon reluctantly following, the former turtle looked over his enemy. These Devimon were sinister looking, almost demonic. He was a bit nervous, but he wasn't scared of these things. He was used to fighting these kinds of monsters after all.

Still, as he dodged the blasts and drew his bo staff, he analyzed the attacks, the appearance and power of these monsters. His ninja skills weren't going to be good enough to beat these.]

Kamemon, your gonna need to try something!

O-okay... Pointer Arrow!

[The Digimon sent out what looked like a mouse cursor at the Devimon. It hit and there was an explosion...

And once the smoke cleared, nothing had changed.]

GROUP B

[The sound resonates across the area as the Digital Zone practically explodes. Everything that was sucked in comes out all at once and along with it four figures.

The Devimon are not easily noticeable for what the are. Their data is cracked and broken. Each Devimon looks and moves worse than the last, but there is a noticeable factor-- they're far larger and more muscled than any normal Devimon out there.]

[When the Devimon turns its attention to those in Group B it stops, form swaying in the wind. The creature seems to hum before reaching its long arm out to take a swipe at the group.]

[Group C had the lazy Devimon. It's wings stretched out as if it was testing them before it tilted its head to the side. Groaning it glanced at the group with a look that may have been mild annoyance.

Finally, it reaches out both of its hands to grab for two of the group members.]

[Kaldur had been watching the field for some time. He was patient and actually did not stir very much. You could tell he was almost used to this sort of thing. Gizamon, on the other hand, was hopping and sometimes rolling around restlessly. She could just not sit still. However, she stopped and her hair bristled just as the field began to change.

Kaldur did not notice this at first. He did, however, notice the pulsing and warping going on in the field.]

Be ready.

[He says it to call attention in case otherse, like Gizamon, had dropped their guard. His eyes widen as the Devimon emerged. They were rather disturbing looking and everything was wrong.]

[Gizamon growled.] Devimon. They look worse than usual.

[One of the Devimon hands reached out for Kaldur. He made to jump out of the way and Gizamon immediately attacked. She curled up into a spiky ball and launched herself at the hand]

Spiral Edge!

Watch it, Wash. This thing is dangerous. [The Digimon focuses on the opponent at that, hoping Wash understands how dangerous this is as he aims an attack at the Devimon.] Coro Knuckle!

[The last Devimon seemed just as lazy as the last, if only briefly. It glanced back at the Dark Zone and made a noncommittal sound before turning its attention back to the members of Group D.

Staring curiously, the Devimon seemed to think about it before taking flight. Its wings carried it in the air choppily, but the Devimon didn't seem hindered. Instead it threw all of its weight into one good aim at the Chosen and their partners.]

[Shinji's mind had, as usual, been elsewhere while waiting for some reaction from the anomaly, or orders, or anything to let him know what to do next. Namely, he'd been wondering just why he had come here to begin with. Maybe it's because he felt some kind of obligation to support the people risking their lives. Maybe he was an idiot.

And then the...things appeared. They had his complete and undivided attention.]

Kokuwamon, what are-

I-I am not quite sure! They resemble Devimon but are...well, not normal by any stretch of the imagination. I wonder how this plays into the-

[When the Digimon finally started its swoop, Shinji panicked, he jumped out of the way, pulling Kokuwamon with him.]

Shinji, what are you doing? Let me fight!

[His partner is too busy trying to catch his breath to answer. Shinji had almost forgotten what it felt like, to be in real danger.]

[Mondo's reason for going was twofold: One, he didn't want to look like a wimp and tended to rush headfirst into dangerous situations like this whenever he could, and two, he had already died once and that seemed to make all other danger seem like nothing.]

Alright, alright, let me at 'em!

What?! You? I'm doing the fighting here, alright! [Because DemiDevimon was tiny. So that makes two tamers not all that eager to let their digimon fight.]

I don't care how it - [And then there's a Devimon coming right at them.] - Shit!

[He grabs onto DemiDevimon and yanks him out of the way, skidding along the ground to avoid the Devimon's attack.]
